SPECIAL MEETINGMINUTES
MARCH 11,2014
I.CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. in the Village Board Room of the Village Hall, 50
South Emerson Street, by Mayor Arlene Juracek. Trusteespresent included Paul Hoefert,
John Korn, John Matuszak, Steven Polit, Richard Rogers and Michael Zadel. Staff present
included Village Manager Michael Janonis, Assistant Village Manager David Strahl, Finance
Director David Erb, Deputy Finance Director Lynn Jarog, Community Development Director
Bill Cooney, Deputy Community Development Director Brian Simmons, Human Services
Director Julie Kane, Deputy Human Services Director Jan Abernathy, Administrative Intern
Alex Bertolucci, Human Resources Director Joan Bokina, Village Clerk Lisa Angell,
Administrative Assistant to the Village Manager Doreen Jarosz, Fire Chief John Malcolm,
Deputy Fire Chief Henry Dawson, Fire Marshall Brian Loomis, Police Chief Mike Semkiu,
Deputy Police Chief Tim Janowick, Deputy Police Chief John Wagner, Police Commander
Mike Eterno, Police Commander Bob Smith,Public Works Director Sean Dorsey, Deputy
Public Works Director Jason Leib, and Consultant Lynn Montei was also in attendance.
II. VILLAGE BOARD STRATEGIC PLANNING-SESSION 4
Mayor Juracek
provided an overview of the draft strategic plan along with various members
of the Village Board highlighting the general goals and objectives. She stated that the Village
staff does a fantastic job at performing the necessary work to run the Village and this plan is
solely intended to articulate the good work and to provide general direction moving forward.
These goals will also help the Village Board in its future decision-making in utilizing limited
financial resources.
General consensus of the Village Board was to continue atraining session with the consultant
and senior staff to help define the objectives and to support the goals as outlined in the draft
plan.

Motion made by Trustee Zadel second by Trustee Korn to adjournthe meeting at 8:40 p.m. All
Trustees approved adjournment.
