VILLAGE BOARD STRATEGIC PLANNING - SESSION #4 As part of the 2014 Budget message a suggestion was made to undertake a strategic planning process with the Village Board as part of a long term vision to define a general Village mission and direction through more detailed planning. To that end, strategic planning sessions took place on January 14, 28, and February 24 in place of the Committee of the Whole meetings. These meetings were led by a professional facilitator that engaged the Village Board to establish a shared vision and mission in which to achieve the preferred vision. As this development of the strategic vision continues, staff will work with the Village Board to create suggested processes to work toward achieving the Village mission as part of future decisions. The Senior Management staff will participate in the general discussion of the Strategic Plan development to date with the Village Board members. Staff and the Village Board members will discuss the elements of the overall draft and descriptive components that support each element so that the discussion can lead to further development of action steps by staff at the next phase of development. Lynn Montei, Montei Associates, will assist in the facilitation of this discussion stage of the strategic planning effort. III.
