RESOLUTION NO.
2-88
A RESOLUTION NOTING THE PASSING OF
LIEUTENANT HAROLD E. BARRA
WHEREAS, following his 4 year service in the United States Marine
Corps, Lieutenant HAROLD E. BARRA became a member of the
Broadview, Illinois Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, Lieutenant HAROLD E. BARRA became a sworn member of the
Mount Prospect Fire Department in May, ~1964, having been promoted
to the rank of Lieutenant on November 1, 1970; and
WHEREAS, Lieutenant HAROLD E. BARRA, being one of the first sworn
members of the Mount Prospect Fire Department, provided important
contributions to the Mount Prospect Fire Department resulting in
Mount Prospect being recognized as a trend setter in the
nationally acknowledged fire prevention and education programs;
and
WHEREAS, as Director of the Fire Cadet Program for the past 11
years Lieutenant HAROLD E. BARRA was responsible for the continued
success of this program providing career opportunities for high
school students in fire service related occupations; and
WHEREAS, Lieutenant HAROLD E. BARRA earned the respect of his
fellow firefighters through his leadership and pride in his
position as a member of the Mount Prospect Fire Department.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Mount Prospect do hereby acknowledge the many contributions of
Lieutenant HAROLD E. BARRA to the Mount Prosect Fire Department
and to Village as a community.
SECTION TWO: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Mount Prospect do hereby express their sincere sympathy to the
family and friends of Lieutenant HAROLD E. BARRA.
SECTION THREE: That this Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner
provided by law.
