This had been brought up last spring and he wanted to know if there had been any movement.
Mayor Juracek responded by saying that plans for plowing and sidewalk clearing are currently in
discussions.
Mr. Boldt was also concerned with the tax proposals as presented by Finance Department. The
concern is that even though requests seem small, they do add up to large sums when combined
with other requests. We have to keep in mind that many residents are on fixed incomes. Mr.
Boldt took exception to a statement
Mayor Juracek responded stating the Village is sensitive to those on fixed incomes. There is a
rd

Jim Chylik
complimented the Fire Department for their Smoke Detector Program and had the
following comments:
He mentioned that some information on the Village Website was outdated.
He likes the Village Newsletter, but feels most people do not read it.
He feels the leaves should be raked to the edge of the grass and only moved to the gutter the
night before. Do not rake into the street.
Judy Nelson
has been a resident since 1970. She received a letter from the Village about
replacing her gravel driveway with asphalt or concrete. She said she cannot afford a new
driveway. Mayor Juracek informed her that the rule changed 15 years ago and a grace period
was given. Gravel driveways are not allowed. Dave Strahl invited the resident to stop by
Community Development to see if there were any grants or loans available.

Mayor Juracek advised that Prospect Heights Park District personnel now attend events and they

Randhurst to discuss their signage proposal, as they are looking to alleviate this situation.
Tom Manion
is glad to hear about the Downtown proposal. He misses Caribou coffee, he was
informed it will be replaced by Starbucks which was confirmed.
Roy Rendino
had questions on plans for parking lots, specifically the stripping in the commuter
lots. Dave Strahl pointed out they would be designating areas for monthly riders vs. those who
pay daily. Discussions are still underway on the details and on the number of spaces to designate
for each. Mayor Juracek added the Village will monitor this and will look at ways to improve
signage as it is confusing. Maple Street would remain for Mount Prospect residents only.
John Walter
asked whether the Village looked into having Walmart occupy the Domini
is closing. Mayor Juracek advised they did look into it, but Walmart was committed to going
into Des Plaines. It was also noted that the entire Golf Plaza strip mall is up for sale.
Discussions are taking place with developers and options for other businesses to move in.
David Schein
