Roll Call Sandy DiCaro, Jill Friedrichs, Christina Greco, Linda Hoefert, Kathy Janonis, Mike
Janonis, Paul Seils, Fred Steinmiller, Liz Stone, Teresa VanOpdorp and Tarina Wimmer

Call to Order 9:02 a.m.
Secretary's Report Motion to approve minutes from July 13, 2013 made by Christina Greco,
seconded by Kathy Janonis. Discussion held: change minutes to reflect Linda Hoefert as
absent. It was reported that she was both present and absent. Motion approved
unanimously.
Citizens to Be Heard Thank you note from Dawn Fletcher Collins was read to members.
Financial Report Motion to accept report as presented made by Sandy DiCaro, seconded by
Kathy Janonis. Discussion held: Kathy Janonis was able to get the monies owed the
Commission from the Celestial Celebration from Sub Express. Motion approved unanimously.
Do- It- Yourself Sousa Discussion was held.
Family Bike Ride Will take place on August 17 Need raffle prizes, approximately 100
participants have preregistered.
3 day Walk Last year walkers started entering Mount Prospect at approximately 8 -8:30 am.
Would like to be at Sunset Park to set -up at 7:00 then off to Weiss Center to set -up there. Give-
aways have been received. Once all walkers have passed Sunset Park pack up /clean up and
those that can make it to Weiss Center, walkers are there from approximately 12:30 to 5:00. If
anyone can make it Thursday will be assembling balloon arches at Tarina's home after 8:30 am.
Celestial Celebration This year's theme is Mount Prospect Fire Department's 100 Years. There
are a lot of ideas being considered some including firemen.
New Year's Eve Eve SEC will be hosting the event. A quote of $11. has been given by Victoria
Banquets, Teresa VanOpdorp is trying to get it reduced to $10. Still need to talk to Capannari
Ice Cream. It will be a one seating event and the NYEE logo is a work in progress.
Christkindle Market Looking to have it in a tent this year. Teresa will be contacting crafters.
Suggested that kids decorate ornaments. Need to contact village to see who will be
coordinating event.
