A. 1st reading of AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 18
(TRAFFIC CODE)
This Ordinance amends the Traffic Code to include YIELD
on Wille at Evergreen and YIELD on Thayer at Marcella.
The Safety Commission recommended these amendments. (Exhibit A)
ANY INDIVIDUAL WITH A DISABILITY WHO WOULD LIKE TO ATTEND THIS
MEETING SHOULD CONTACT THE VILLAGE MANAGER'S OFFICE AT

IX. NEW BUSINESS
A. ZBA 11-97, Mid City National Bank, 15 East Prospect Avenue
The Petitioner is requesting a Conditional Use for a drive-thru facility
The Zoning Board of Appeals voted 1 Aye and 4 Nays, therefore
denying the request.
B. Honan Plat of Subdivision, 1215 Wildwood
The Petitioner is requesting this one large lot be divided into
2 lots in order to construct single family homes. The Plan
Commission recommended approving this subdivision by a
vote of 6-0,
C. ZBA 18-97, 2225 West Lincoln Street
The Petitioner is requesting the subject property be rezoned
from R-X to R-1 (Single Family Residential). The Zoning Board
of Appeals recommended granting this request by a vote of 5-0.
D. Report from staff regarding application of Metro Checker Taxi Cab
Company to operate in the Village.
E. Recommendations of the Safety Commission:
1. Request of representatives of St. Mark Lutheran Church to
designate the following streets as fire lanes:
a. West side of Wille Street, from Evergreen to
160 feet south of Evergreen
b. East side of Pine Street, from Evergreen to 100 feet
south of Evergreen
c. South side of Evergreen, from Wille to 165 feet west
of Wille
d. Permit a street drop off area on Wille in front of church
The Safety Commission recommended approving requests a, b
and c but to deny request d.
2. In response to requests for safety measures at Fairview School
the Safety Commission recommends granting the following:
a. Prohibit parking between 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM on:
1 ) South side of Isabella between Fairview & Oak
2) North side of Isabella between drop-off driveways
3) Westside of Forest between Isabella & Thayer
b. One-way Stop on Forest at Isabella
3. Request of resident to establish 4-way STOP at School & Thayer.
The Safety Commission recommended granting this request.
4. Request of resident to establish 3-way STOP at Louis & Sunset.
The Safety Commission recommended denying this request.
F. 1st reading of AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE
OF PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE VILLAGE
This Ordinance authorizes the sale of certain vehicles and
equipment in conjunction with the annual auction conducted
by the Northwest Municipal Conference, which auction will
be held September 6th at the Mount Prospect Public Works
facility. (Exhibit B)
G. 1st reading of AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE
OF PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE VILLAGE
This Ordinance authorizes the sale of certain vehicles and
equipment in conjunction with the annual auction conducted
by the Northwest Municipal Conference, which auction will
be held October 25th at the Palatine Public Works facility. (Exhibit C)
FI. I st reading of AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 19
OF THE VILLAGE CODE BY ESTABLISFIING ARTICLE XII
ENTITLED "TATTOO PARLORS"
This Ordinance establishes regulations governing the
application of tattoos. (Exhibit D)
X. VILLAGE MANAGER'S REPORT
A. Accept proposal for entry sign at Northwest Highway & Central Road
B. Approve labor agreement between the Metropolitan Alliance
of Police and the Village for the years 1997 through 2000
