Settlement Agreements ~n the cases of Marbnez v. Mount Prospect, Medrano v. Mount
Prosoect and Moser v. Mount Prospect in substanbally the form submitted to the V~llage
Board on March 4, 2000 The Settlement Agreements shall neither obligate the V~llage to
a payment of more than $150,000 total for all three cases, nor more than one year's
additional pay for Messrs Medrano and Moser The Settlement Agreements shall not
contain any indlcabon of any admission of I~abil~ty on the part of the Village or ~ts
employees, but shall prowde for the vacation of any judgments entered against the
V~llage or ~ts employees in these matters The V~llage Attorney shall rewew the
Agreement pr~or to its execubon and submit a letter to the V~llage Board ind~cabng h~s

for a variation to reconstruct an ex~st~ng wood deck that encroaches three feet rote a
required 7 5 foot s~de yard setback, he explained that the ex,sting deck was prewously
built w~thout a bu~Id~ng permit The Zoning Board of Appeals recommended approval by
a vote of 5-0
Trustee W~lks ~nqu~red as to whether the petitioner built the exIsbng deck At th~s bme ~t
~ was found that the pebtloner was not at the meeting, however, Trustee Skowron stated
that she had watched the Zomng Board meehng and learned that the petitioner d~d not
bu~Id the deck
Due to the per,boner's absence, Trustee Hoefert, seconded by Trustee Skowron, moved
to defer th~s case to the Mamh 22 V~llage Board meeting

TEXT AMEND- Mr Ceoney presented recommendabons for text amendments to Chapter 14, Secbon VII,
MENTS, CH 14 of the V~llage Code, relative to park dlstr~cts, as part of the CR Conservation Recreabon
Zoning Dlstnct The Zomng Board had recommended approval of the proposed
amendments by a vote of 5-0

He stated that vlrlage staff has worked with park d~stnct officials ~n the development of
the proposed amendments, however, some Board members expressed concern for
residents I~wng near the parks, and ~nd~cated that they would prefer g[wng those
residents more of an opportumty to be ~nformed of the proposals, pnmardy because of the
amendments which address required setbacks from property lines, and light pole heights

ACQUIRE The following five ordinances were presented for first reading, each of which would
