HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 5086 02/15/2000 ORDINANCE NO. 5086 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DISPOSAL OF CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT Passed and approved by the President and Board of Trustees the 15th day of February, 2000 Published in pamphlet form by authority of the corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois, the 16th day of February, 2000 VWL 2/10/00 ORDINANCE NO. 5086 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE DISPOSAL OF CERTAIN PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT WHEREAS, in the opinion of at least three-fourths of the corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, it has been determined that it is no longer necessary, useful, or in the best interest of the Village of Mount Prospect to retain ownership of the personal property hereinafter described, and previously used by the Television Services Division; and WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect to sell said personal property as described in Exhibit "A" at a public sale to be held on May 20, 2000, at 11:00 a.m. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE: Pursuant to Chapter 65, Section 11-76-4 of the Illinois Municipal code, Illinois Revised Statutes, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect find that the personal property described in the attached Exhibit "A" now owned by the Village of Mount Prospect, is no longer necessary or useful to the Village of Mount Prospect and the best interests of the Village will be served by its sale. SECTION 'rwo: Pursuant to said Chapter 65, Section 11-76-4, the Village Manager or his designate is hereby authorized and directed to sell the aforementioned personal property now owned by the Village of Mount Prospect, at a public sale on Saturday, May 20, 2000, at 11:00 a.m. at the Public Works Facility, 1700 West Central Road, Mount Prospect, Illinois. SECTION THREE: The Village Manager is hereby authorized and may advertise the sale of the aforementioned personal property in a newspaper published within the community prior to the date of said public sale. SECTION FOUR: No offer which is less than the minimum price set forth in the list of property to be sold shall be accepted. SECTION FIVE: Upon payment of the full price, the Village Manager or his designate is hereby authorized and directed to convey and transfer title to the aforesaid personal property to the purchaser. Page 2/3 Sell property SECTION SIX: Any items remaining unsold after the above date may be disposed of by the Village Manager or his designate in a manner which is in the best interests of the Village. SE~CTION SEVEN: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
