AN ORDINANCE DETEP34INING CERTAIN
PREVAILING WAGES TO BE PAID FOR
CERTAIN PUBLIC WORKS PROJECTS
%.~HEREAS, the State of Illinois bas enacted "An ACT
regulating wages of laborers, mechanics and other workmen
employed in any public works by the State~ county, cisy
or any public body or any political subdivision or by any
one under contract fo~ public works," approved June 26,
194!, as amended, being Section 39s-1 throuqh 39s-12,
Chapter 48, Illinois Revised Statutes, 1977; and
WHEREAS, the aforesaid Act requires that municipalities
investigate and ascertain the prevailing rate of wages as
defined in the Act for laborers, mechanics and other workmen
in the locality of the municipality employed in performing
construction of public works for the municipality exclusive
of maintenance work;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD
OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF ~]OUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY,
ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That, to the extent and as required by
"An ACT regulating wages of laborers, mechanics and other
en employed in any public works by the S~ate, county,
ty or any public body or any political subdivision or by
,one' under contract for public works," approved June 26,
, as amended, the general prevailing rate of waqes in
locality for laborers, mechanics and other workmen eh-
[aged in the construction of public works coming under the
urisdiction of the Village of Mount Prospect is hereby as-
'ertained to be the same as the prevailing rate of waqes for
:onstruction work in the Cook County area as determined by
zhe Department of Labor of the State of Illinois as of June 14,
[980, a copy of that determination being attached hereto and
.ncorporated herein by reference. The definition of any terms
~ppearing in this Ordinance which are also used in the afore-
~aid Act shall be the same as in the Act. Maintenance work
)f the Village of Mount Prospect is excluded from the appli-
:ation of this Act.
SECTION TWO: That, nothing herein contained shall be
onstrued to apply the general prevailing rate of wages as
erein ascertained to any work or employment except public
orks construction of this municipality to the extent required
y the aforesaid Act.
SECTION THREE: That, the Village Clerk shall keep availabl.
or inspection by any interested party in the Office o.' the
[llage Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect this determina-
on of the prevailing rate of ~$'age.
SECTION FOUR: .That, the Village Clerk shall mail a certi-
.ed copy of thfs determination to any employer, and to any
ssociation of employers and to any person or association of.
~ployees who have fi]ed, or file their names and' addresses,
?questing copies of any determination stating the particular
~tes and the particular class of workmen whose waqes will be
fleeted by such rates.

SECTION FIVE: That, the Villhge Clerk shall promptly
a certified copy of this Ordinanse. %~ith both the Secretary of
State and the Department of Labor of the State of Illinois.
SECTION SIX: That, the Village Clerk shall cause to be
published in a ne%~spaper' of general circulation within the
area a copy of this Ordij~a;~ce, and the publication shall con-
stitute notice that the determination is ~ffective and that
this is the determination of this public body.
SECTION SEVEN: That, this Ordinance shall be in full for(
and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication
in the manner provided by law.
