W, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
USTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS
FOLLOWS:
~TION ONE: Chapter 11 of the Municipal Code of the Village of
unt Prospect be, and the same is hereby amended by renumbering
ticles XXXI and XXXII'of said Chapter as, respectively, Articles
XII and XXXIII, and adding to said Chapter a new Article XXXI,
ich said new Article shall hereafter be and read as follows:
ARTICLE XXXI
WRECKER AND TOWING SERVICES

License Required
Revocation of License
Sec..11.3101. License Required. No wrecker or operator of a towing
service shall engage in business within the Village or offer such
service within the Village except in compliance with the provisions
of this Article. It shall be unlawful to engage in the business of
wrecker or operator.of a towing service in the Village unless such
business is conducted by an individual who has applied for and
obtained a license for such from the Village Clerk as provided in
Chapter 10 of this Code.

An application hereunder shall be accompanied by an
application fee of thirty dollars ($30.00).
No license shall be issued to an applicant hereunder
until he shall have deposited with the Village Clerk
insurance policies of the type and in the amounts
required in'Section !i.1108.
A wrecker license hereunder shall be issued subject to
the following conditions:
1. Wreckers shall keep and maintain towing equipment
which is adequate to perform such towing service
in a reasonably workmanlike manner.
2. No wrecker shall intercept police calls by short
waiye radi0~
Sec. 11.3102. Revocation of License. In addition to other~applicable
procedures contained in this Article, a wrecker or towing service
license may be revoked by the Village Manager, or an application
for issuance or renewal of such license may be refused by the
Village Clerk, in the manner provided for such proceedings in Chapter
10 of this Code.
ECTION TWO: This Ordinance shall be applied retroactively to all
~recking and towing services operating within the Village of
'rospect at any time from and after March 187 1980
iECTION THREE: This Ordinance shall be in force and effect from
~nd after its passage, approval and publication in the manner
~rovided by law.
