AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 13 OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS ACTING IN THE EXERCISE OF THEIR HOME RULE POWERS: SECTION ONE: That in accordance with Subsection A of Section 13.108 of Chapter 13 of the Village Code of Mount Prospect, as amended, the Corporate Authorities shall determine the number of Liquor Licenses available in each Classification and shall establish a list specifying the number of Liquor Licenses authorized. WILKS AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES FROM: VILLAGE MANAGER DATE: DECEMBER 17, 2012 SUBJECT: E &O FOOD & DRINK 125 RANDHURST VILLAGE DRIVE REQUEST FOR CLASS "F3" LIQUOR LICENSE On Tuesday, November 20, 2012, the Village Manager met with owners Paul Lee, Aeron Lancero and Rodelio Aglibot regarding their request for the creation of a new Class "F3" liquor license at their newly constructed Randhurst Village location near the Hampton Inn. The Class "F -3" license provides for the full service of alcohol in a restaurant with lounge. Messrs. Lee, Lancero and Aglibot are partners in Intrestco Group a hospitality consulting and investment company delivering a special experience within dining establishments. All partners have extensive knowledge in the hospitality industry. Chef partner Rodelio Aglibot will deliver a "New American" style menu at Earth & Ocean, serving wholesome food and natural ingredients with an Asian, Italian and Mediterranean influence. Chef Rodelio has been showcased as the "Food Buddha" on WGN, Fox and local news media. The total building square footage is 6,300 square feet with an estimated 40 seats inside and an additional outdoor dining patio featuring seating around a brick fireplace. The restaurant will be open seven days a week serving lunch and dinner. A mid February opening is anticipated. The Village Manager discussed at length the Village's particular sensitivity to the sale of alcohol to minors or clearly intoxicated persons. The requirements of the Village's Fight Ordinance were also discussed. The Village Manager made it very clear to all present that the restaurant managers were responsible for the actions of all restaurant employees with regard to the service of alcohol. Also discussed was the need for all employees involved in the delivery of alcohol to complete a certified liquor servers training course. A completed application as well as all other required documentation is on file. Messrs. Lee, Lancero and Aglibot have submitted to background checks and fingerprints in association with the E & O liquor license. If the Village Board views this application favorably, an Ordinance creating a new Class "F3" License would need to be adopted. ORDINANCE NO.
