Mayor Wilks asked to address an issue from the previous meeting about an abandoned car parked at
1105 Cottonwood. Chief Semkiu addressed the resolution to this issue and explained the process the
Police Department is required to follow prior to towing an abandoned car pursuant to village ordinance
and state statute. This was followed by a brief discussion on what happens to the car if the owner does
not claim it.
Mayor Wilks also announced David Schein who usually attends could not be here, as he is on the east
coast working with FEMA.
Barbara VanArsdale, Can -Dota Avenue
Ms. VanArsdale had a question regarding the golf course possibly closing for a year and if it is true, why
they are closing. Trustee Polit responded that the golf course is closing half of the course for one year
and the other half of the course the next year to install an irrigation system and reconfigure the
topography of the area in order to store water, which would be more cost effective.
Mayor Wilks also mentioned that Ms. VanArsdale was on the Sister City Commission and commented on
their most recent fundraiser.
John Elenberger, S. Redwood Drive
Mr. Elenberger recognized the Lions Club for the Farmers Market and added he had attended with friends
from Iowa and they were very impressed. Mr. Elenberger also asked if after leaf pickup Tuesday, the
bags of leaves would be picked up with the regular trash. Trustee Hoefert responded yes and the bags do
not need stickers. Finally, Mr. Elenberger asked if the SUV's are replacing squads and Chief Semkiu
responded yes.

Louis Goodman, N. School Street
Mr. Goodman inquired about the car the Police Department recently obtained pursuant to a narcotics
investigation, as he heard it was Jaguar and very expensive. Chief Semkiu identified the vehicle as a
Jaguar, but of minimal value. It is being submitted to the State's Attorney's Office for seizure process and
then turned over to the State Police to be auctioned. A portion of the auction proceeds would be
forwarded to the Village.
Jerry Boldt, N. School Street
Mr. Boldt opened with it is a special day, as the former Mayor, present Mayor and hopefully, the future
Mayor were present, referring to Mayor Wilks, former Mayor Farley and Trustee Juracek who is running
for Mayor. Mr. Boldt also wanted to thank the Village for disposing of the political signs quickly and asked
if there was any way to have the "Gutter Cleaning" signs taken down, as they are everywhere. Trustee
Polit suggested contacti the co m p any to remove them. t °. m' yM anager,

Mr. Boldt also had issues with the results of the resurfacing on Busse Road, as it was messy and did not
provide a smooth surface. Mayor Wilks explained that county is responsible for doing the work and
sometimes uses another company for patchwork and Jeff Wulbecker, the Village Engineer, has been in
contact with the county regarding this issue and a number of other issues. If they would like, they may call
Cook County Commissioner Timothy Schneider or Cook County President Toni Preckwinkle regarding
this issue.
Walter Szvmczak, N. Eastwood
Mr. Szymczak had nothing to discuss.
Jim Chvlik, Locust Lane
Mr. Chylik is very concerned about the first telephone pole south of Palm on Lavergn, which has a
support anchor sticking out of the ground. He believes if it is not taken care of, the pole could fall and
cause a power outage. He contacted Commonwealth Edison, only to be told he should call back in
November and this led to a brief discussion. During t'hts discussion, Mr Strahl placed 41 telephone
call to Commonwealth &fison and left a message.
Carol Tortorello, S. Elmhurst Avenue
Carol Tortorello had no issue to discuss.
Louis Bowers, Boxwood Drive
Mr. Bowers asked the Mayor if she will continue on with the council after leaving office. Mayor Wilks
responded she will stay active and involved in the community as much as possible. Mr. Bowers asked for
an explanation on the article in the Fall Newsletter on "Homes for a Changing Region." Mayor Wilks
explained this is a collaboration of CMAP with other groups working to study long term housing needs for
the local communities. Trustee Juracek pointed out the growing population and diverse salaries will
create a need for different housing. She also noted studies continue to be done and additional
information will be out in another booklet.
Mr. Bowers asked how long the Village's alternative electric contract is in place, as he would like to switch
once his renewal comes up. Mr. Strahl said two years and Trustee Juracek advised him he must sign up
within 2 months in order to be on the program.
Max Romanowicz, Ardvice Lane
Mr. Romanowicz had nothing to discuss.
Tom Tezkv, N. School Street
Mr. Tezky expressed his appreciation for everyone's friendship at Coffee with Council and hopes it will
