AN ORDINANCE A_MENDING CHAPTER 22 OF THE VILLAGE CODE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PP~ESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT,, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That subsections A and B of Section 22.504.3 of
Chapter 22 of the Village Code of Mount Prospect 6f 1981, as
amended, be and the same is hereby further amended in its
entirety; so that hereafter the said Section 22.504.3 shall
be and read as follows:
Sec. 22.504.3 Sewer Rates.

Ail Village Sewer users within[the corporate
limits of the'Village having a direct or
indirect connection with the Village sewer
and water mains or pipes shall pay the following
sewer rate, based upon the amount of water
consumed to which sewer service is furnished:
Per 1,000 Gallons i~'~ $0.13/Per Quarter

Ail Village sewer'users within the corporate
limits of the Village of Mount Prospect having
a direct or indirect connection with the Village
sewer mains or'pipes, and not with Village water
mains or pipes, shall pay a flat rate of $1.25
per month, per dwelling unit.
Ail sewer users outside the corporate limits
of the Village of Mount Prospect having a direct
or indirect connection with the Village sewer
and water mains or pipes, shall pay the following
sewer rate based upon the amount of water
consumed to which sewer service is furnished:
~Per 1,000 Gallons
$0.2~Per Quarter
Ail sewer users outside the corporate iim[ts of
the Villag~ of Mount Prospect having a direct or
indirect connection with the Village sewer mains
or pipes, but not with Village water mains or
pipes, shall pay a flat rate of $2.50 per month,
per dwelling unit. "
SECTION TWO: That Section 22.506.1 of Chapter 22 of the
Village Code of Mount Prospect of 1981, as amended, be and
the same is hereby further amended in its entirety; so that
hereafter said Section 22.506.1 shall be and read as follows:
Sec. 22.506.1. Late Payment Penalty; Service Shut Off
Ail water and sewer charges shall be due and payable on
or before the twenty-fifth day after the date of the
statement for such charges. All bills unpaid for
the 25 day period provided for shall become delinquent
and a penalty of ten percent (10%) of the total amount
of such charges shall be added thereto and shall be
due in addition to the charges for such services. When-
ever charges for water service have remained unpaid for
more than 60 days from the date of the statement provided
for, the water service may be shut off from the premises

of such delinquent consumer, provided that the
consumer shall be given at least ten (10) days written
notice of inten~ to shut off such services, and the
reason therefor, and an opportunity to request and
obtain a hearing with respect to such unpaid charges
before the Director of Public Works of the Village,
and to receive a written decision from the Director,
which, if adverse, shall further allow the consumer
a reasonable period of time, not less than five (5)
days, to pay the delinquent charges prior to the
shut off of services. Water services which has been
shut off shall not be resumed until all bills in arrears
shall have been paid, including twenty-five dollars
($25.00) for expenses incurred in shutting off and
turning on the water. It shall be the duty of the
Director of Public Works to enforce the provisions
of this Section whenever delinquency shall occur. "
SECTION THREE: That this Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect as of June 1, 1982, as p~ovided by law.
