AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING
A SPECIAL USE TO ALLOW THE OPERATION OF
A GROUP CARE HOME BY BETHESDA LUTHERAN
HOME ON CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE
R-2 DUPLEX RESIDENCE DISTRICT, AS ZONED,
IN THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, the Bethesda Lutheran Home, the Petitioner herein,
~as made application for a Special Use with respect to certain
property zoned and classified in the R-2 Duplex Residence
District for the purpose of operating and maintaining a Group
Care Home for eight (8) developmentally disabled individuals, of
eighteen years of age or older, and two (2) supervisors,
pursuant to the provisions of Section 14.1301.C of Chapter 14
of the Village Code of Mount Prospect, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the subject property is located at 1318-1320
Linneman Road, in the Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois, and
is legally described as follows:
Lot 2 in Richard Springstone's Re-subdivision
of Lots 298 and 299 in Elk Ridge Villa, Unit
No. 5, recorded 4/18/72 as Document No. 2618100,
in the S.W. 1/4 of Section 14, Township 41 North,
Range 11 East, of the Third Principal Meridian,
in Cook County, Illinois.

WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on said Special Use
~pplication (designated as Case No. ZBA-41-SU-82) before the
Zoning Board of Appeals of the Village of Mount Prospect on
Dctober 7, 1982, pursuant to proper publication of due notice
thereof in the Mount Prospect Herald on September 20, 1982;

WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has submitted its
finding and recommendation to the Village; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees have con-
sidered the Special Use Application and have determined that
the subject property complies with the standards set forth
in Section 14.704 of said Chapter 14 regarding a special use,
and that the best interests of the Village of Mount Prospect
would be obtained by the adoption of the necessary ordinance
to approve and authorize the said Special Use.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD
bFTRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY,
~LLINOIS:
;ECTION ONE: The recitals set forth hereinabove are incorpor-
ated herein as findings of fact by the President and Board of
?rustees of the Village of Mount Prospect.
ECTION TWO: A Special Use for the subject property described
above to allow the operation of a Group Care Home for eight (8)
developmentally disabled individuals, eighteen years of age or
older, within the R-2 Duplex Residence~District, pursuant to
Subsection C of Section 14.1301 of said Chapter 14 is hereby
approved, subject to compliance with the following conditions
percedent thereto:
(a) The completion of inspections by the proper State
licensing agency and Village Code enforcement Personnel prior
to occupancy of the premise~ for Group Care Home purposes.
(b) Compliance With smoke detector and fire escape require-
nents of Village Regulations.
SECTION THREE: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
upon its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form
in the manner provided by law.
PASSED AND APPROVED this 16th day of November, 1982.
