ORDINANCE NO. 3291
~AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CERTAIN HEIGHT PROVISIONS
TO THE I-1 LIGHT INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT OF CHAPTER
14 OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT,
ILLINOIS, REGARDING RADIO AND TELEVISION ANTENNAS
WHEREAS, the Community Development Department of' the
Village of Mount Prospect has submitted an application for
text amendment to Article XXII of Chapter 14 of the Village
Code of Mount Prospect, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, said text ~mendment is for the purpose Of pro-
~viding height regulations for radio and television antennas
~rected within said I-1 Light IndUstrial DiStrict; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on said zoning text
amendment application (designated as Case No. ZBA-37-A-82)
before the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Village of Mount
Prospect on the 23rd day of September, 1982, pursuant to proper
publication of due notice thereof in the Mount Prospect Herald,
on Septer~ber 7, 1982; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board. of Appeals has forwarded its
finding and recommendation to the Board of Trustees of the
Village that the requested text amendment be approved to
provide for certain height regulations regarding radio and
television ~ntennas; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the
Tillage of Mount Prospect that said text amendment be adopted.
NOW, T~EREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED By THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY,
£LLINOIS:
~ECTION ONE: Article XXII of Chapter 14 of the Village Code
)f Mount Prospect, Illinois, 1981, as amended, is hereby
~urther amended as follows:

By adding a new paragraph 2 to Subsection C of
Section 14.2201 to read:
Radio and television transmitting and
receiving antenna towers not otherwise
excluded from the height restriction of
this Section. "
B. By amending Subsection B of Section 14.2204 to read:
Federally licensed amateur radio operator's
transmitting antenna towers with a maximum
height of sixty feet (60') and such antenna
tower structures having an over-all height of
not more than seventy feet (70'), chimneys,
flag poles, and steeples shall be excluded
from the regulations contained in this Section."

SECTION TWO: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
upon its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet form
in accordance with law.
