AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SPECIFIED PERSONALL
PROPERTY OWNED BY THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
PASSED AND APPROVED BY
THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES

AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SPECIFIED
PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
WHEREAS, in the opinion of at least three-fourths (3/4) of
the corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect, it
is no longer necessary or useful to or for the best interests
of the Village of Mount Prospect, to retain ownership of the
personal property hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the President and Board
of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect to sell said
personal property; and
NOW, THEREFORE,'BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY,
ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That, pursuant to Section 11-76-4 of the
Illinois Municipal Code, Ill. Rev. Stat., Chapter 24,
the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Mount Prospect find that the following described property
now owned by the Village of Mount Prospect, is no longer
necessary or useful to the Village of Mount Prospect and
the best interests of the Village of Mount Prospect will be
served by its sale:

SECTION TWO: That, pursuant to said Section 11-76-4 of
the Illinois Municipal Code, the Village Manager is hereby
authorized and directed to sell the aforementioned personal
property now owned by the Village of Mount Prospect, to the
highest bidder, or the qualified bid as determined by the
Village Manager. Said sale shall be conducted through the
receipt of sealed bids.,
SECTION THREE: That the Village Manager is hereby authorized
and directed to advertise the sale of the aforementioned
personal property in a newspaper with general circulation
within the Village of Mount Prospect not less than ten (10)
days prior to the date of said bid opening.
SECTION FOUR: That the Village of Mount Prospect reserves
the right to reject any and all bids.
SECTION FIVE: That the Village Manager is hereby authorized
and directed to enter into an agreement for the sale of said
personal property which sale shall be advertised by publishing
the following notice at least once in the Daily Herald,

ealed bids will be accepted at the Office of the
tillage Manager, Village of Mount Prospect, 100 S. Emerson St.,
~p to 10:00 A.M.C.D.S.T. on September 13, 1983, for the
~ollowing items:
;even (7) 1981 Dodge Diplomat used Police Vehicles (Black & White)
(2) 1980 Chevy Malibu used Police Vehicles (Black & White)
(2) 1979 Jeep Cherokee used Police Vehicles (White)
(i) 1981 Ford Fairmont used Police Vehicles (Black & White)
of the twelve vehicles are to be sold in an "as is"
:ondition.
~ids will be opened in the Office of the Village Manager at
10:00 A.M. on September 13, 1983. Bids will be accepted on
one or more of the above vehicles individually, or on the
total group as a whole.
Inspection of the above listed vehicles may be made by
contacting the Office of the Chief of Police, Village of
Mount Prospect, 112 East Northwest Highway, Mount Prospect,
Illinois 60056. For additional information call 312/392-6000,
Ext. 110 or 111.
Bids are to be according to the Instruction to Bidders on file
with the Office of the Chief of Police. Bids must be on the
form provided by the Village of Mount Prospect. Proposal forms
and information on the vehicles may be secured from the
Police Chief.
The Village of Mount Prospect reserves the right to reject
any and all bids.

SECTION SIX: That upon payment of the full price, the Village
Manager is hereby authorized and directed to convey and
transfer title to the aforesaid personal property to the
successful bidder(s).
SECTION SEVEN: That this Ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication
in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
