"SCHOOL BOARD OF EDUCATION MONTH"
JANU.4R Y 2003
WHEREAS, an excellent public education system is vital to the quality of life
of all citizens in our community; and
WHEREAS, schools are being held to higher standards of accountability than
ever before; and
WHEREAS, school board members represent a tremendous resource as local
decision makers, responding to the challenges of creating schools that meet
high education standards; and
WHEREAS, school board members serve our community by representing the
interests of school children and preparing them for the future; and
WHEREAS, school board members continually strive for improvements and
progress in education; and
WHEREAS, school boards rnust formulate policies to assure that no chiM is
left behind; and
WHEREAS, the men and women elected as members of the Community
Consolidated School District 59 Board of Education, and others in the Village
of Mount Prospect, deserve recognition and thanks for their countless hours of
volunteered, unpaid service to public education;
NO~, THEREFORE, I, Gerald L. Farley, Mayor of the Village of
Mount Prospect, do hereby proclaim the month of January 2003 as
"SCHOOl, BOARD OF EDUCATION RECOGNITION MONTH"
in the Village of Mount Prospect, and we hereby declare our appreciation to
the members of all school boards throughout our community.
