HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 42-02 08/20/2002 wl RESOLUTION NO. 42-02 A RESOLUTIONACKNOWLEDGING THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE MOUNT PROSPECT TEN-YEAR OLD TRAVEL BASEBALL TEAM WHEREAS, the MOUNT PROSPECT TEN-YEAR OLD TRAVEL BASEBALL TEAM is an energetic, highly-skilled baseball traveling team of thirteen ten-year olds attending Lions Park, St. Raymond, Fairview, and River Trails schools, all within the Village of Mount Prospect; and WHEREAS, these young men have been a winning team under the leadership of Head Coach Michael Falagario since the year 2000, having won six baseball tournaments within the last two years, compiling a record of 43 wins and only 8 losses; and I47-IEREAS, after countless hours of practice and much determination, on June 15-16, 2002, the MOUNT PROSPECT TRAVEL TEAM played in the Championship in a Worm Series qualifying tournament in Waukesha, Wisconsin, earning an invitation to play in the Super Series World Series; and WHEREAS, the unforgettable weekend of August 1-4, 2002, the MOUNT PROSPECT TRAVEL TEAM traveled to Omaha, Nebraska and capped a stellar season by winning the Championship at the Super Series World Series before a crowd of over l OO families and friends. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, on behalf of a proud community, do hereby acknowledge and recognize the MOUNT PROSPECT TRAVEL TEAM for their outstanding achievements during this memorable baseball season. SECTION TWO: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect do hereby extend to Head Coach Michael Falagario and his coaching staff high hopes for continued success with youth here in the Village of Mount Prospect. SECTION THREE: That an official copy of this Resolution be suitably prepared and presented to the MOUNT PROSPECT TEN-YEAR OLD TRAVEL TEAM as a perpetual memo. SECTION FOUR: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
