RESOLUTION NO. 9-85
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE FISCAL YEAR 1985 COMMUNITY
DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ENTITLEMENT PROGRAÞ1
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect is entering its eighth
year as an entitlement community under the federal Community
Development Block Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, in the past seven years the Village has used its Com-
munity Development Block Grant entitlement to implement various
projects to address the community development and housing needs
of its low and moderate income and elderly residents, to reduce
and prevent the occurrence of deterioration in the Central Area
of the Village, to increase accessibility for the handicapped,
and to address other community needs in conformance with the
objectives of the Community Development Block Grant Program;
and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect has been allocated
$309,786.00 for fiscal year 1985 from the U. S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development; and
WijEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees at its regular meeting
of March 20, 1984 approved an application for entitlement funds
in the amount of $316,350.00 for the 1984 fiscal year; which
application was then submitted to and approved by the U. S.
Department of Housing and Urban Development; and which funds
were then made available to the Village of Mount Prospect on
May 1, 1984; and
WHEREAS, the 11ayor and Board of Trustees has determined that
these funds can continue to be of benefit in providing for the
health, safety and welfare and meeting the community develop-
ment and housing needs of its citizens:
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY,
ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: The Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Mount Prospect hereby approves the allocation of Community
Development Block Grant funds to projects in the following
I amounts for a total allocation of $309,786.00:
Residential Rehabilitation Loan Program
Downtown Improvements
Multi Family Rehabilitation
Adult Day Care Transit and paratransit for
Elderly and Handicapped
Commercial Building Facade Improvements
Housing Counseling
Low-Moderate Income Day Care Services
General Administration

a. To be combined with $22,274 reprogrammed from Program
income.
b. To be combined with $2,738 from program income and $81,504

Contingencies.

SECTION TWO:
The Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount
Prospect hereby authorizes the Village Manager to prepare and
forward to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
a submission of Mount Prospect's "Final Statement of Community
Development Objectives and Projected Use of Funds" in accor-
dance with federal guidelines.
SECTION THREE: This Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner
provided by law.
