Illinois 60056 BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS Phone 847/870-5656 MINUTES December 7, 2004 Police Department Administrative Conference Room Present: Robert McKillop, Chairman John Arndt, Commissioner Clyde Brooks, Commissioner Richard Eddington, Police Chief Michael Figolah, Fire Chief Absent: Marie Cotten, Secretary George K. Busse, Commissioner Chairman McKillop called the meeting to order at 5:55 p.m. POLICE DEPARTMENT UPDATE Chief Eddington reported that Officer Muska graduated from basic training on December 3rd and is currently in the Field Training Officer Program. On December 3rd, Commander John Gross graduated from the Northwestern University Traffic Institute School of Police and Command School. Chief Eddington is working with I/O Solutions on the written portion of the sergeants test. Chief Eddington asked that any items for the BOFPC agenda be turned in 14 days in advance of the meeting in order to mail the packets in enough time. At the December 21 st Village Board Meeting, Deputy Chief Dahlberg will be receiving an International Association of Chiefs of Police Traffic Safety Award for the police department. FIRE DEPARTMENT UPDATE Chief Figolah reported that on December 4th the eligibility list expired. The physical ability test will be held on December 11th at NIPSTA. There was a discussion on scheduling of the oral interview dates and times. The Board decided to schedule candidates as follows: 3 candidates - January 4th starting at 8:00 p.m. 6 candidates - January 5th 6 candidates - January 6th 5 candidates - January th There was also a discussion on the oral interview questions. Chief Figolah will send copies to the Board members and the attorney as soon as possible. Commissioner Brooks gave the Board a list of points from the training he attended at the Illinois Fire and Police Commissioners Association Conference. He would like the Board to discuss these points at future meetings. Attorney Broihier will be attending the February 8th meeting. , Page Two Minutes - 12/07/04 Approval of the minutes was carried over to the next meeting.
