A good response with enough information for some conclusions. Of the 29 surveys returned: 19 were industrial and 10 were retail. Jim summarized the survey results for the members of the commission in a thirty minute report. Survey summaries and itemized question responses are attached to these minutes. Basically most businesses were here because of the proximity to O'Hare field, the promoting of Mount Prospect as a "class" community and saw the EDC as a communications link to the business community. Business Visitation -NBD Bank Operations Center Ken Fritz gave a report on the recent visit to BBD, indicating that we won the relocation of this operation from the previous site in Evanston because of our Kensington Park, Mount Prospect and bus services. Ken also recommended from this conversation that they could have used a Welcome Wagon service for new businesses moving into the Village. He passed this recommendation on to the Mount Prospect Chamber where Janet Hansen was enthusiastic about starting such a service and will develop the idea immediately. Chamber ambassadors will welcome all new businesses and hand them a kit of information about how to get permits, licenses, services from other Chamber members, etc. C. Chamber Expo- EDC Exhibit What Business Brings to Mt Prospect Ken, Ed, Karen and John summarized their experiences as volunteers at the Village EDC booth at Randhurst during the Chamber Expo. All felt it was not the best audience to reach, with many questions being asked about Village services, which only a Village employee, not an EDC volunteer citizen could answer. It was good to present the Figures showing just how much the business groups contribute to the Village annually: over $12 million . V. NEW BUSINESS A.
