Chairman Busse called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
A motion was made by Commissioner Skowron and seconded by Commissioner Bennett to accept the
minutes of the April 2, 2012, Open Meeting.
Roll Call: Ayes: Skowron, Powers, M. Busse Nays: None Abstain: G. Busse, Bennett,

A motion was made by Commissioner Skowron and seconded by Commissioner Powers to accept the
minutes of the April 30, 2012, Special Meeting.

POLICE DEPARTMENT UPDATE
Chief Dahlberg reminded the Board of the promotions for Deputy Chief Semkiu to Chief of Police,
Commander Wagner to Deputy Chief, Sergeant Smith to Commander and Officer Raus to Sergeant,
which will be held on June 5 h at 7:00 p.m. during the Village Board Meeting. Chief Dahlberg reported the
department's current sworn strength is 83 with an authorized strength of 82 and provide the Board with a
brief overview of staffing for the department over the next few months
Deputy Chief Semkiu invited the Board to attend tomorrow night's Committee of the Whole Meeting at
7:00 p.m. where Chief Dahlberg will be presented with a resolution thanking him for his many years of
service.
FIRE DEPARTMENT UPDATE
Deputy Fire Chief Truty briefly updated the Board on the status for the changes to the Firefighter- Hiring
Bill, which will need "to be incorporated into the rules and regulations. It has passed the House and is
currently in the Senate. There was also a brief discussion on the current eligibility list as it pertains to the
new legislation.

CLOSED SESSION
A motion was made by Commissioner Bennett and seconded by Commissioner M. Busse to go into
Closed Session under personnel 5 ILCS 120/2 (c)(1) and to approve Closed Session minutes at 6:05 p.m.
Roll Call: Ayes: G. Busse, Skowron, Powers, Bennett, M. Busse Nays: None Abstain: None
Motion Carried
The Board returned to open session at 6:31 p.m. with everyone in attendance from the prior session.
A motion was made by Commissioner Skowron and seconded by Commissioner Bennett to accept the
Chief's recommendation to remove Bradford Wicks from the eligibility list.
Voice Vote: Ayes: G. Busse, Skowron, Powers, Bennett, M. Busse Nays: None Abstain: None
Motion Carried
A motion was made by Commissioner Skowron and seconded by Commissioner Bennett to accept the
Police Chief's recommendation to remove candidate Christopher Dosch from the eligibility list.
Voice Vote: Ayes: G. Busse, Skowron, Powers, Bennett, M. Busse Nays: None Abstain: None

OTHER BUSINESS
There was a discussion regarding the summer meeting schedule. The next meeting was tentatively
scheduled for July 2 nd at 5:30 p.m.
With no further business, a motion was made by Commissioner M. Busse and seconded by
Commissioner Bennett to adjourn the meeting at 6:45 p.m.
