The meeting convened at 9:03 a.m. Village Board members present were Mayor Wilks and Trustee Polit.
Representing staff was Assistant Village Manager David Strahl and Finance Director David Erb.

Mayor Wilks opened the meeting with general remarks and asked for introductions from Trustees, staff
and visitors in attendance. Mayor Wilks then moved to the resident portion of the meeting.
Janice Serafini, Kenilworth — Ms Serafini stated concerns with parking situation on the night of July 4
fireworks. Shared with the group that cars were double - parked causing traffic congestion and a potential
safety hazard. Staff noted issues and would share with Police Department.
John Elenberger, Redwood Drive — Expressed thanks for letter Village to Lutheran Church. Mr.
Elenberger also complimented on flower pots in front of village hall. He also talked about the village
parking garage shaking as cars entered and exited. Mr. Elenberger was told it was a design feature to
add strength /flexibility to structure.
Mal Holec, Quince Lane — Mr. Holec had questions regarding electric aggregation. Mr. Strahl shared
information, FAQ's, and a program status with the group. Mr. Holec also asked a question regarding the
redevelopment of Menards and Aldi parcels. Lastly, Mr. Holec wanted to know how to handle a skunk
problem he is having. General discussion followed.
Steve VanArsdale, Candota — Did not have any issues to bring to group. Wanted to know who to notify
regarding a parkway tree in front of his house that is not leafing out. Mr. VanArsdale was directed to
contact the Public Works — Forestry Department.
Anita Taylor, Burning Bush — Ms. Taylor had questions regarding electric aggregation that were
answered by Mr. Strahl.
Jim Chylik, Locust — Mr. Chylik wanted to the thanks the village for a card he received. He also wanted
to know if the village provided a document shredding program for residents. Mr. Chylik was informed that
the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County would be at the Mount Prospect Public Works facility
on August 25 located at 1700 W. Central from 9 -11 AM.
Carol Tortorello, Elmhurst Avenue — Ms. Tortorello shared with the group information on the "Got the
Dot ?" Staff also noted information can be found in various public announcements from the village.
Walter Szymczak, Eastwood — Nothing to bring to the group.
Beverly Doering, loka — Ms. Doering had concerns regarding the potential redevelopment at the corner
of Elmhurst and Golf Road. Ms. Doering deferred to Mr. Connolly to make comments on behalf of the
group of residents in attendance at the meeting that reside on and around the 900 block of South loka.
John Connolly, loka — Mr. Connolly shared concerns South loka residents have with the proposed
Walgreens redevelopment. A real estate company has made inquiries to loka residents planning to
develop a property, the Stark Realty building located on the northwest corner of Elmhurst and Golf.
There were many concerns communicated from loka residents attending the meeting that oppose the
redevelopment. Mayor Wilks, Trustee Polit and Mr. Strahl took notes on the comments presented. Mr.
Strahl shared with residents how the Planning & Zoning process works and how to become involved in
the process. Many other residents in attendance commented on matter. General discussion followed.
Skip Farley, Emerson — Mr. Farley had questions regarding electric aggregation that were answered by
Mr. Strahl.
Lewis Goodman, School — Mr. Goodman shared information with village representatives on neighbors
who do not appear to have purchased the current vehicle stickers (314 and 304 School). Mr. Goodman
also wanted to know the requirements /restrictions for overnight parking. General discussion followed.
Lewis Bowers, Boxwood — Mr. Bowers had questions regarding electric aggregation that were
answered by Mr. Strahl. He also wanted to know where to find information regarding the village's
recycling program and whether this is communicated to residents. Mr. Bowers was advised on where to
look for this information on the village website and was assured that the village does all it can to
communicate this information with residents.
Mark Spanier, loka — Mr. Spanier shared with the village that the home located at 915 S. loka has been
vacant for some time and could potentially have mold issues due to past flooding. Mr. Spanier has
spoken with Housing Inspector Rafaela Garcia on this. Ms. Garcia has been responsive. Mr. Spanier
wanted to know if the village could do anything further to manage the vacant property. Mr. Strahl noted
the property address and will inform Community Development of the problem.
Tom Manion, Edward Street — Mr. Manion did not have anything to share with the group except to
comment on the butterflies on display throughout the Village. Mayor Wilks thanked Mr. Manion for his
comments.
John and Cheryl Fletcher, Emerson Street — The Fletchers wanted to inform the village of homeless
people spending the night in Sunrise Park locate at 600 E. Sunset. Village staff would share this
information with the Police Department to check into. The Fletchers also wanted to talk about the
variation process for replacing their existing a six -foot fence with a like six -foot fence. The Village Code
currently only permits a five -foot fence. The process for obtaining a variance was discussed. The
Fletchers were directed to contact the Community Development Department. Mr. Strahl would ask
Community Development to follow up with their request for information.
Pat and Pam Mueller, loka — The Mueller's were interested in learning what the parking restrictions were
for overnight parking. There was also an inquiry into the No Left Turn sign at Golf and loka and wanted
to know who was responsible for maintaining the sign. Mr. Strahl informed the Mueller' that this was a
state route and the Illinois Department of Transportation had jurisdiction for signage on Golf Road.
Mayor Wilks asked if there was any further business for the good of the Village. Hearing none the
meeting was adjourned at 11:15 a.m.
