4 th of July Parade The theme for the parade will be MOUNT PROSPECT HONORS THE OLD AND WELCOMES
THE NEW. The Journal newspaper ran a great and detailed article about the parade. The application process
has gone paperless with approximately 90+ applications. Of those, 10 applications had no e -mail address so
had to be sent by LISPS, another 4 applications were returned because of incorrect e -mail addresses. The
letter and application has been forwarded to the village and has been put on the website. Reminders will be
sent out on a regular basis.
Vests Fred Steinmiller showed members in attendance two old Public Works safety vests to give members an
idea of variations that could be ordered. Options: zippered or Velcro closure; printing on front or back and
pockets or no pockets. It was decided on Velcro closure with printing on back side. Fred will get prices on
several options.
Tasks Dawn Fletcher Collins passed around a sign -up sheet for upcoming events (4 of July Parade, Do -It-
Yourself Sousa, Susan G. Komen 3 Day Walk and Family Bike Ride).
Other Business Martha Helm notified members that she will not be renewing her Commission membership in
September. She is looking for a member to shadow her and take on the Sousa event. Christina Greco has
volunteered to take on this responsibility.
Citizens to be Heard Blayke VanOpdorp let members know her yellow crayon broke. Fred Steinmiller
recommended a band -aid as a fix.
