Minutes of June 2, 2012

Roll Call Dawn Fletcher Collins, Sandy DiCaro, Janice Farley, Jill Friedrichs, Martha Helm, Linda Hoefert,

Call to Order 9:05 a.m.
Secretary's Report The Minutes from May 5th were e- mailed to members in advance. Motion to approve
the Minutes from May 5, 2012 was made by Paul Seils, seconded by Martha Helm. No discussion was held,
motion approved unanimously.
Treasurer's Report The Treasurer's Report was distributed by Dawn Fletcher Collins. There was no discussion
and the Treasurer's Report was accepted as presented.
4 of July Parade The theme for the parade will be MOUNT PROSPECT HONORS THE OLD AND WELCOMES
THE NEW. To date there are 38 units responding they will be participating in the parade. New units so far this
year are Grand Prairie Transit, Frozen Yogurt and Edible Arrangements. There are 16 entertainment acts to
date, of those 11 units have asked for a fee for their participation totaling $15,150. 1 will keep members
updated with help needs via e -mail.
Vests Fred Steinmiller met with a representative of ProSafety, Elk Grove Village for information regarding
safety vests. ProSafety can provide a vest for $6.50 per unit. If Special Events is to be appliqued on the back
of the vest the cost would be a one -time set -up fee of $35. and a per letter charge of $1.50. Motion to
purchase 15 lettered vests and 10 plain vests from ProSafety made by Linda Hoefert, seconded by Jill
Friedrichs. Discussion was held, motion approved unanimously.
Do- It- Yourself Sousa Martha Helm reported that Christina Greco and she met to go over what it takes to chair
the event. Applications have been mailed to past participants. It was decided that the same number of
American flags will be ordered as in past years.
New Business Dawn Fletcher Collins announced her resignation from the commission. Fred Steinmiller has
volunteered to chair the commission. Other members were asked if they would like to be considered for the
chair position.
Adjourn 9: 43 a.m. Motion made by Fred Steinmiller, seconded by Jill Friedrichs. Motion approved
unanimously.
