Chairman Adam Kiel called the November 02, 2011 Mount Prospect Youth Commission meeting to order at
7:04 p.m. in the first floor training room of the Police and Fire Headquarters, Mount Prospect, Illinois.

YOUTH RESOURCES COMMITTEE

Chairman Rachel Otte advised the Youth Resources Committee did not meet during October.

Chairman Otte advised they are working on the updating of the Youth Resource Catalog, the completion of the

Spanish version of the Youth Resource obtaining Catalog, and the Smart phone sticker.

OLD BUSINESS
YOUTH COMMISSION SHIRTS
Secretary Cindy Rumors conducted an inventory of Youth Commission t-shirts on hand and it was decided not
to order any additional t-shirts at this time.
YOUTH COMMISSION FLYER
Public Relations Committee to update the Youth Commission flyer to reflect current Youth Commission
members and replace the outdated flyers displayed throughout the community. Once updated, the flyers to be
placed at area schools and park districts.
NEW BUSINESS
BICYCLE SAFETY
Members continued discussing a possible Youth Commission spring (April — May) project educating youth of
the community about proper bicycle usage and safety. Adult Advisor Steve Polit agreed to sponsor the program.

Discussions to continue at the December meeting.
VILLAGE TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY
New Lighting Village Hall Tree Ceremony will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. for all

OTHER BUSINESS
Nora Gawlik challenged Youth Commission members to encourage friends to come to a future Youth

Commission meeting. Chairman Adam Kiel set a goal for all members to ask 3 friends to attend a Youth

Commission meeting.
Adult Advisor Steve Polit suggested Youth Commission contact the Journal and Daily Herald to advise them of

Youth Commission activities and events.

OTHER BUSINESS — Continued
Youth Commission member Nora Gawlik to represent Hersey High School at the Illinois Cross Country State
Z-
championship on Saturday, November 05, 2011 in Peoria. Good luck Nora!!! No other fall Hersey sport teams
qualified for state this year.
FOOD PURCHASE
Jaclyn Stassen is scheduled for the food purchase for the December meeting.

Jaclyn Stassen, seconded by Nora Gawlik, moved to adjourn the November 02, 2011 Youth Commission
meeting. Motion carried by unanimous approval.
