RESOLUTION NO.
33-87
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE GENERAL
ELECTION OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT OF
NOVEMBER 3~ 1987
WHEREAS, a regular election was held in and for the Village of
Mount, Cook County, Illinois, on Tuesday, November 3, 1987~ for
the purpose of presenting two referendum questions pertaining to
the Mount Prospect Public Library; and
WHEREAS, the following referendum question (No.1) was presented
to the electors of the Village of Mount Prospect:
nShall the annual library tax for maintenance and operation
of the Mount Prospect Public Library in the Village of Mount
Prospect be increased from 0.23% of full fair cash value to
0.30% of full fair cash value of all taxable property, as
equalized or assessed by the Illinois Department of
Revenue?R
WHEREAS, the following referendum question (No.2) was presented
to the electors of the Village of Mount Prospect:
"Shall the corporate authorities of the Village of Mount
Prospect provide that bonds of the Village of Mount Prospect
in an amount not exceeding Six Million Five Hundred Thousand
Dollars ($6,500,000) be issued for the payment of the costs
of improving the existing public library building and the
construction and erection of an addition thereto?R
WHEREAS, the local Canvassing Board has conducted the official
canvass and presented the results; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount
Prospect do hereby declare the results of the November 3, 1987
election for said Village to be as set forth hereinbelow.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That pursuant to the Consolidated Election Laws of
the State of Illinois, a regular election was held for the
Village of Mount Prospect on Tuesday, November 3, 1987.
SECTION TWO: That an official canvass was conducted by the
Local Canvassing Board for the Village of Mount Prospect
declaring 3,804 ballots were cast as follows:

That inasmuch as Referendum Question No.1

received the greatest number of NO votes, it is declared that
this Question failed.
B) That inasmuch as Referendum Question Noo 2
received the greatest number of NO votes, it is declared that
this Question failed.
SECTION FOUR: That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to
forward, in the appropriate manner, the results of this
proposition to the County Clerk and appropriate officials.
SECTION FIVE: That this Resolution shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner
provided by law.
