BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS
MINUTES
March 11, 2003
Present:
Robert McKillop, Chairperson
Marie Cotten, Secretary
Clyde Brooks, Commissioner
John Arndt, Commissioner
Richard Eddington, Chief of Police
Michael Figolah, Fire Chief
Everette Hill, Ir. BOFPC Attorney
Absent:
Claude Bjork, Commissioner
Chairman McKillop called the meeting to order at 5:40 p.m.
A motion was made by Commissioner Brooks and seconded by Commissioner Arndt to accept
the minutes ofthe open meeting of February 4,2003.
Ayes: Cotten, Brooks, McKillop, Arndt
Nays: None Motion carried.
A motion was made by Commissioner Brooks and seconded by Commissioner Cotten to accept
the minutes of the open meeting of March 5, 2003.
Ayes: Cotten, Brooks, McKillop, Arndt
Nays: None Motion carried.
A motion was made by Commissioners Brooks to go into executive session for the purpose of
discussing personnel. Seconded by Commissioner Arndt.
Roll Call:
Ayes: Arndt, Cotten, McKillop, Brooks
Nays: None Motion Carried
The meeting reconvened.
A motion was made by Commissioner Clyde Brooks to remove Daley and Permenter from the
list because they do not achieve the standards of the Police and Fire Regulations that the Village
of Mount Prospect has established and a letter will be sent to each one indicating such.
Seconded by Commissioner Arndt.
Ayes: Cotten, Brooks, McKillop, Arndt
Nays: None Motion carried.

Fire Department Update
Chief Figolah gave an update on the Fire Department Staffing.
Police Department Update
The Police Department has started backgrounds on the ten candidates passing the oral interviews.
Other Business
Some suggested changes regarding the Oral Interview Questions were passed out to the Board.
Commissioner Brooks has some suggestions and will submit them as soon as possible.
There was discussion regarding Mayor Farley being invited to a meeting in the near future.
Chairman McKillop will contact the Mayor.
There was no further business.
A motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 6:20 p.m. by Commissioner Brooks. Seconded by
Commissioner Arndt.

Nays: None Motion Carried
