ROLL CALL Secretary Cindy Rumorc called the roll noting Rachcl Ottc left ill from the previous meeting. VISITORS TO BE HEARD Mr. Thomas Tczky, 50 year resident of Mount Prospect, distributed sonic literature from the Theosophical Society to members. TREASURER'S REPORT Jaclyn Stasscn advised Rabia Mcmon purchased food for this meeting; however the food receipt was unavailable at the time of the meeting. Rabia to submit food purchase receipt to Cindy Rumorc for reimbursement at the October meeting. YOUTH COMMISSION COMMITTEES Chairman Adam Kicl and members discussed committees for the upcoming year. Members decided what committees they would like to serve on as well as placing absent members on a committee. Chairman Adam Kicl advised for the October meeting, committee members arc to select a chairman for their committee, select an Adult Advisor to serve on their committee, and share goals for their committee. ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE Adam Kicl, Alcx Oplawski ISSUES COMMITTEE Michael Boivin, Rabia Mcmon PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE Jaclyn Stasscn, Dclanic Stcinwcg YOUTH RESOURCES COMMITTEE Nora Gawlik, Rachcl Ottc Rabia Mcmon, seconded by Nora Gawlik motioned to create Youth Commission committees for 2011- 2012: Administration Committee, Issues Committee, Public Relations Committee, and Youth Resources Committee formerly known as the Youth Resource Catalog Committee. Motion carried by unanimous approval. ADMINISTRATION COMMITTEE Chairman Adam Kicl advised the committee would begin preparation for the next Village Board presentation. ISSUES COMMITTEE Rabia Mcmon advised the committee would develop a youth related issue to discuss with the commission members. YOUTH RESOURCES COMMITTEE Nora Gawlik advised the committee will continue working on the Spanish version of the Youth Resource catalog. OLD BUSINESS YOUTH COMMISSION SCRAP BOOK Nora Gawlik to finish updating the scrap book prior to passing on to newly elected Historian Rachel Otte. NEW BUSINESS YOUTH COMMISSION MONTHLY MEETING Members discussed attendance at monthly meetings. All members in attendance advised there are no conflicts in their schedules that would interfere with attending monthly meetings. Members agreed to confirm their attendance at the next monthly meeting via email upon receipt of the Agenda and Minutes the week prior to the meeting to assure we have a quorum. "GREEN FAIR" Adult Advisor Steven Polit inquired if members were interested in helping with the Village's "Green Fair" on Saturday, September 24, 2011. Adult Advisor Polit to email members with the information and interested members to confirm their participation with him. OTHER BUSINESS Nora Gawlik is working on her Girl Scout Gold Award and is collecting home -grown vegetables to donate to CEDA. Adult Advisor Steven Polit encouraged members to help him at the Farmer's Market on Sundays at 12:30 p.m. to collect vegetable donations from participating farmers.
