RESOLUTION NO. 33-04
A RESOLUTION OF APPRECIATION TO DR. ROBERT T. HOWARD
FOR SERVICE TO THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
WHEREAS, early on, DR. ROBERT T. HOWARD recognized the importance of education and
devoted himself to educating area youth for more than thirty years, during which he held
positions of math and algebra teacher, football coach, guidance counselor, principal, and
superintendent, including eleven years with Community Consolidated School District 59 in the
Village of Mount Prospect; and
WHEREAS, during DR. HOWARD's tenure with Community Consolidated School District 59,
significant improvements were instituted in the general curriculum, and many programs were
established to ensure that the individual needs of every child were addressed, including, but not
limited to the district-wide Fine Arts Festival, and a new language arts program; and
WHEREAS, DR. HOWARD, in his strong commitment to continuous improvement, was
instrumental in the formulation of a strategic plan for School District 59, by involving the
community in more than 90 focus groups to standardize goals to be shared and accomplished by
all members of the school community, resulting in a district mission and vision; and
WHEREAS, DR. HOWARD immersed himself in the betterment of not only School District 59,
but the l'.1ount Prospect community as well, by becoming an active member of the
Mount Prospect Sunrise Rotary Club, and Our Savior Lutheran Church in neighboring
Arlington Heights; and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect has been the recipient of immeasurable service from
DR. ROBERT T. HOWARD, and express their gratitude for his dedication and contributions.
NOw, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect do
hereby acknowledge and recognize DR. ROBERT T. HOWARD for his years of service to the
community and wish him and his famiZv a long and successful future.
SECTION TWO: That an official copy of this Resolution be suitably prepared and presented
to DR. ROBERT T HOWARD as a perpetual memento.
SECTION THREE: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
