ORDINANCE NO. 3736
AN ORDINANCE MODIFYING SECTIONS OF CHAPTER 16
ENTITLED "DEVELOPMENT CODE" OF THE VILLAGE
CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
WHEREAS, Rouse-Randhurst Shopping Center, Inc has requested
Modification of the Development Code requirements of street
lights, parkway trees, and sidewalks for Randhurst Shopping
Center; and
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission of the Village of Mount Prospect,
Cook County, Illinois, has reviewed the proposed modifications to
Chapter 16, Development Code, of the Village Code of Mount
Prospect for property commonly known as
Attached hereto as Exhibit "A";
and
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission has forwarded its recommendations
relative to modifications to Chapter 16, Development Code, to the
President and Board of Trustees, which recommendations have been
considered at a regular meeting of the President and Board of
Trustees; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Mount Prospect have determined the best interests of the Village
of Mount Prospect will be attained by the adoption of the
recommendations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That modifications from Chapter 16 entitled
=Development Code" of the Village Code of Mount Prospect are
hereby granted, for the property being the subject of this
Ordinance, as to
Requirements for parkway trees on Kensington,
Euclid and Elmhurst Roads shall be eliminated;
provided adequate landscaping on private property
shall be installed with approval by the Department
of Planning and Zoning.
Requirements for street lights on Kensington,
Euclid and Elmhurst Roads shall be waived until
such time as the State of Illinois Department of
Transportation and Cook County Highway Department
allows lighting to be installed; and the Rouse-
Randhurst Shopping Center, Inc. shall execute a
covenant to guarantee installation at such time.
Such covenant shall be recorded against the
property.

to the approval of the Illinois Dep'artment of
Transportation, and a walkway shall also be
provided near the Office Building to allow safe
passage of pedestrians into the mall circulation
system; and
A five foot (5') wide walk shall be installed at
the (approximately) Meadow Lane traffic signal
along the Elmhurst Road entrance driveway to
provide safe passage of pedestrians into the mall
circulation system; and
A five foot (5') wide walk shall .be installed at
the intersection of Kensington and Rand Roads which
shall extend East to the signalized entrance of the
Randhurst mall, and a walkway shall also be
provided near the watertower to allow safe passage
of pedestrians into the mall circulation system;
and
The need for perimeter sidewalks required by the
Development Code shall be reviewed at five (5) year
intervals or when near by property changes use
which may affect pedestrian traffic.
SECTION TWO: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from in
pamphlet form as provided by law.
