OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS
TO PROVIDE FOR CERTAIN CHANGES TO THE ZONING CODE
PASSED AND APPROVED BY
THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES

ORDINANCE NO. 3828
AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 14 ENTITLED "ZONING"
OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS
TO PROVIDE FOR CERTAIN CHANGES TO THE ZONING CODE
WHEREAS, the Alter Group has proposed amendments to the Zoning
Ordinance to provide for changes to establish new uses in the I-1
Industrial and O/R Office-Research District; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing was held on said amendments, designated
as Case No. ZBA 45-A-87 before the Zoning Board of Appeals of the
Village of Mount Prospect on the 18th and 25th day of July, 1987
pursuant to due and proper notice thereof published in the Mount
Prospect Herald on the 2nd day of June, 1987; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has submitted its findings
and recommendations to the Board of Trustees of the Village of
Mount Prospect; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees have considered
further the amendments and the findings and recommendations of
the Zoning Board of Appeals and have determined that it is in the
best interest of the community to grant the amendment request.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS,
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION ONE: Chapter 14 entitled "Zoning" of the Village Code of
Mount Prospect, Illinois, 1981, as amended, is hereby further
amended by amending Section 14.2602 of Article XXVI, Section
14.2201.A of Article XXII, Section 14.2901.A of Article XXIX,
Section 14.2205.A of Article XXII, Section 14.2907.A.5 of Article
XXIX as follows:
By amending Section 14.2602 to include the following
defination:
"Commerical/Business School: "An establishment which
offers specific courses of classroom instruction, for
profit, to the general public, in business, trade,
industry or other trained skills; but does not offer
academic instruction equivalent to the standards
perscribed by the School Code of Illinois."
By amending Section 14.2201.A to include the following
as a permitted use in the I-1 Industrial District:
"14. Commercial/Business School."
By amending Section 14.2901.A to include the following
in appropriate numerical sequence as a permitted
use in the O/R Office Research District:
"9. Commercial/Business School."

By amending Section 14.2205.A.l.c to include the
following:
"c. For any Commerical/Business School, One (1)
off-street parking space shall be provided for each
seventy-five (75) square feet of gross floor area
in the building."
By amending Section 14.2907.A.5 to delete the existing
Subsection A.5 and substitute the following:
"5. For any hotel/motel facility, parking shall be

provided as follows:
a. One (1) space for each hotel unit; and
b. One (1) space for each 125 gross floor area
of assembly rooms; and
c. One (1) space for each 300 gross floor area of
accessory retail space; and
d. One (1) space for each 150 gross floor area
of Class I restaurant; and
e. One (1) space for each 100 gross floor area
of Class II restaurant; and
f. One (1) space for each 60 gross floor area
of Class IV restaurant."
F. By amending Section 14.2907.A to include the following:
For any Commercial/Business School, one (1)
off-street parking space shall be provided
for each seventy-five (75) square feet of gross
floor area in the building."
SECTION TWO: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage, approval and publication in pamphlet
form in the manner provided by law.
