Northwest Highway Mount Prospect, Illinois 00050 BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS MINUTES December 4, 2006 Public Safety Building Fire Administrative Conference Room, 2nd Floor Chairman McKillop called the meeting to order at 5:50 p.m. Roll Call: Robert McKillop, Chairman Clyde Brooks, Commissioner George Busse, Commissioner Marie Cotten, Secretary Absent: John Arndt, Commissioner Present: Richard Eddington, Police Chief Michael Figolah, Fire Chief Phone 847/870 -5050 POLICE DEPARTMENT UPDATE Chief Eddington discussed the memorandum the Board received regarding the budget process. Officers Davis, Gliner, Salzmann and Taylor graduated from the academy. He also reported that Officers Cornejo and McEwen have been approved for solo patrol on December 4, 2006. Chief Eddington passed out copies of the BOFPC meeting dates for 2007. A copy is attached. They discussed changing two dates: January 2 nd to January 3` and July 3 rd to July 9 The Board concurred. FIRE DEPARTMENT UPDATE Chief Figolah reported that the physical ability test for the new hire test is Sunday, December 10 at 8:00 a.m. Oral interview dates were discussed. They agreed on January 8 th Stn and 10 ", with a starting time of 5:15 p.m. There was a brief update on the Lieutenant Promotional Process APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Commissioner Busse and seconded by Commissioner Cotten to accept the minutes of the November 6, 2006, Open Meeting. Voice vote: Ayes: Brooks, Busse, Cotten, McKillop Nays: None Motion carried A motion was made by Commissioner Busse and seconded by Commissioner Brooks to accept the minutes of the November 6, 2006, Closed Meeting. Page 2 Minutes 12/04/06 BOFPC RULES & REGULATIONS REVISIONS There was a wide- ranging discussion regarding the proposed changes to the rules and regulations. The final revisions will be made and discussed at the next meeting. The discussion and approval of the military preference points and the paid -on -call preference points have been included in the BOFPC Rules and Regulations revisions and will not be effective earlier than January 15, 2007. The Chairman asked for a motion to accept the rules and regulations changes as discussed: motion by Commissioner Brooks, seconded by Commissioner Cotten. Voice vote: CORRESPONDENCE No correspondence.
