CURRENT BUSINESS:
• Theresa Van Opdorp provided an update on the Fine Arts Festival scheduled for June

number of artists. She felt that the low response rate was caused in part by a conflict with

continue until 2013. Theresa also indicated a scholarship would be given to the (NWSRA)
Northwest Special Recreation Association from proceeds of the Fine Arts Festival. She
indicated that commission members would need to assist with the logistics of the Blues
Fest that would follow the Fine Arts Festival. Theresa also requested $300 for a Daily
Herald ad to solicit artists. After a brief discussion the expenditure was approved.
• Jill Friedrichs indicated that she was beginning to plan the upcoming 4 of July Parade.
She indicated the theme for the parade was "Mount Prospect Celebrates Freedom ".
• Martha Helm indicated that the Do It Yourself Soussa event was scheduled for Monday,
July 26.
• Theresa VanOpdorp indicated that the Family Bike Ride was scheduled for Saturday,
