PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT

ORDINANCE NO. 3967
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SPECIFIED
PERSONAL PROPERTY OWNED BY THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
WHEREAS, in the opinion of at least three-fourths of the
corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect it is no
longer necessary or useful to or for the best interests of the
Village of Mount Prospect to retain ownership of the personal
property hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect to sell said personal
property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That, pursuant to Section 11-76-4 of the Illinois
Munlclpal Code, Ill. Rev. Stat., Chapter 24, Section 11-76-4, the
President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect
find that the following described property:
One (1) 1959 American La France, Flre Engine,
900 Series N803, Engine Cat. 3208, Pump 1000 G.P.M.
500 Gallon Water Tank, known as Mount Prospect Fire
Department 510
now owned by the Vlllage of Mount Prospect, is no longer
necessary or useful to the Village of Mount Prospect and the best
interests of the Village of Mount Prospect will be served by its
sale.
SECTION TWO: That, pursuant to said Sectlon 11-76-4, the Village
Manager is hereby authorized and directed to sell the
aforementioned property now owned by the Village of Mount
Prospect, to the highest bidder therefor. Said sale shall be
conducted through the receipt of sealed bids.
SECTION THREE: That the Village Manager is hereby authorized and
directed to advertise the sale of the aforementioned personal
property in a newspaper published within the community and/or
other fire service related publications not less than ten (10)
days before the date of said bid opening.
SECTION FOUR: That the Village of Mount Prospect reserves the
right to reject any and all bids.
SECTION FIVE: That the V~llage Manager ~s hereby authorized and
directed to enter into an agreement for the said sale of said
property which shall be advertised for by publishing the
following notice at least once in the Daily Herald and fire

" NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Notlce is hereby given that the Village Manager of the
Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, will
receive bids at the Office of the Village Manager,
100 S. Emerson Street/ Mount Prospect, Illinois 60056
until 10:00 A.M. on October 1, 1988, at which time the
Bid Proposals for the purchase of one (1) fire engine
with 10000 GPM Midship pump, presently owned by the
village of Mount Prospect, will be opened and publicly
read. Any such proposal shall be accompanied by earnest
money in cash, certified check, or cashier's check in
the amount of 10% of the offer (bid proposal), which
amount shall be returned to unsuccessful bidders.
Prospective bidders and interested persons may review
the personal property to be sold by making an
appointment with Capt. Donald Reynolds, Mount Prospect
Fire Department, 870-5660. The Village of Mount
Prospect reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

SECTION SIX: That upon payment of the full price, the Village
Manager is hereby authorized and directed to convey and transfer
title to the aforesaid personal property, to the successful
bidder.
SECTION SEVEN: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in
pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
