AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
CHAPTER 17 OF THE
THE VILLAGE CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: Article I, "General Provisions", Secbon 17 101, enbtled "Defln~bons",
of Chapter 17 of the V~llage Code of Mount Prospect shall be amended by delebng
paragraph C of Section 17.101 in ~ts entirety and ~nserbng ~n I~eu thereof the following new
paragraph C which shall be and read as follows
C Motor Vehicle Every vehicle which is self-propelled and not
operated upon ra~ls
SECTION 2: Arbcle I, "General Prows~ons", Secbon 17.102, entitled "L~censes
Required", of Chapter 17 of the V~llage Code of Mount Prospect shall be amended by
delebng Section 17 102 ~n ~ts entirety and ~nsert~ng In l~eu thereof the following new Secbon
17 102 which shall be and read as follows
17.102: LICENSES REQUIRED; EXCEPTIONS. Every motorveh~cle,
motor driven cycle, motor bicycle and/or tra~ler, semitrailer or other vehicle as
set forth ~n this Ordinance, which is (1) owned or operated by a person who
resides w~th~n the V~llage, or (2) which ~s owned by a company, firm or
corporabon which has a place of bus~ness located w~th~n the V~llage, or (3)
registered w~th the State to an address located within the V~llage, shall have
d~splayed a current, properly purchased Mount Prospect vehicle I~cense
There shall be only two excepbons to th~s I~cense requirement (1) Vehicles
that (a) are kept and operated primar~ly In another municipal jurisdiction, and
(b) d~splay a current and vahd I~cense from that mumc~pal jurisdiction, and (2)
Vehicles displaying a currently valid antique I~cense plate issued by the
IIl~no~s Secretary of State
