Minutes of adjourned regular meeting of the President and
Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois, held in
the Village Hall in said Village on;the 29th day of March, A.D.1935,
at the hour of eight o'clock P.M., pursuant to adjournment.
The meeting was called to order by President Meyn and on call
of the roll the following were found to be present: Herman F. Meyn, •
President, and Messrs. Alvin Beigel, Dudley W. Budiong, Arvid Carlson,
Walter Niebuhr and Edwin Wille, Trustees.
Absent: Herman Haas.
There being a quorum present the President declared the meeting
open for the transaction of businesss and announced that the first
business to come before the meeting would be the opening of bids re-
ceived for the construction of the improvements and additions to the
waterworks system of the Village, as proposed in and by an ordinance
passed and approved November 7, 1934.
A number of citizens and contractors' representatives were also
present.
The attorney for the Village reported that publication for re-
ceiving said bids had been wade pursuant to the resolution therefor
adopted by the President and Board of Trustees on the 5th day of March,
• 19x5, and in accordance with the provisions of the statute in such case
made and provided. Thereupon it was moved by Mr. Carlson that all bids
received be publicly opened. The motion was seconded by Mr. Budiong and
on call of the roll was unanimously carried, whereupon such bids were
opened and it was found that the following bids had been received:

In the bid of Sides Construction Company no sales tax was in-
(:) eluded.
The Michuda Bros. bid offered to deduct $350 from the regular
, bid and $440 from the alternate bid if 4w gravel is not needed under
reservoir floor.
A certified check for the amount stipulated in the advertise-
ment for bids accompanied each of said bids,. as well as certificates
of compliance, as required by the Federal Emergency Administration of
Public Works.
The foregoing bids were all the bids received.
After a comparison of the above bids it was moved by Mr.
Budlong that all bids, except the three lowest, namely those of
McKeown Bros. Co., Michuda Bros. and W. H. Lyman Construction Co., be
rejected and the certified checks accompanying such rejected bids be
returned to the bidder, and that the bids of the above named three
lowest bidders be taken under advisement and for the purpose of check-
ing as. to the correctness of the figures.
The motion was seconded by Mr. Carlson and on call of the roll .
was unanimously carried.
After a further discussion with representatives of the Federal
Emergency Administration of Public Works present at said opening of
the three bids retained for the purpose r of enabling the engineer for
the Village to further check said bids and make a recommendation, it
was moved that further action on said bids be postponed until the regu-
lar meeting of the President and Board of Trustees to be held on April
2, 1935. The motion was seconded by Mr. Carlson and the roll was called
with the following result:

Mr. Carlson voting aye;
Mr. Niebuhr voting aye;
Mr. Mille voting aye.
No one voting nay.
Total Ayes - 5: Total nays - 0.
Thereupon the President. declared the motion carried.
The Board thereupon proceeded to the consideration of two
ordinances - for the disconnecting of certain parcels of from
the Village, which ordinances had been prepared and were presented
pursuant to petitions heretofore presented by property owners, and on
which the Board had previously acted favorably.' The first ordinance
provided for the disconnecting of the following property:

Commencing 7.38 chains West of the Northeast corner
of the West Half of the Northeast Quarter of Section
14, Township 41 North, Range 11 East of the Third
Principal Meridian, and running thence West 4.27
chains; thence South 26.13 chains to the center line
of Seegers Road; thence South 86 degrees East on the
center line of said road 4.28 chains to the corner of
the school lot; thence North 26.48 chains to the place
of beginning;
Also: Commencing at the Northwest, corner of the
Northeast Quarter of Section 14, Township 41 North,
Range 11 East of the Third Principal Meridian, andrunning
thence East 8.35 chains; thence South 26.13 chains to
the center line of Seegers Road; thence North 86 degrees
West along the center line of said road to the West line
of said Northwest Quarter of said Section 14; thence North
along the West line of said Northeast Quarter of said
Section 14, to the place of beginning;
owned by Herman Busse, and was entitled: "An Ordinance Disconnecting
Certain Property From the Village of Mount Prospect, Illinoi s 164

The ordinance was read by the Village Clerk and thereupon it
was moved by Mr. Beigel that the same be passed. The motion for - the
passage'of said ordinance was seconded by Mr. Carlson and the roll was
called with the following result:
Mr. Beigel voting aye;
Mr. Budlong voting aye;
Mr. Carlson voting aye;
• Mr. Niebuhr voting aye;
Mr. Wille voting aye.
No one voting nay.
Total ayes - 5: Nays - O.
Thereupon the President declared the motion for the passage of
said ordinance carried and said ordinance passed.
The next ordinance presented provided for the disconnecting of
the following tract of land:
That part north of the center line of Seegers Road of
the West Half of the Northwest Quarter of Section 13,
Township 41 North, Range 11 East of the Third Principal
Meridian, also described as Lot 18 of Owner's Subdivision
of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 13, Township 41
North, Range 11 East of the Third Principal Meridian,
owned by Herman Seegers, which ordinance was entitled: "An Ordinance
Disconnecting Certain Property from the Village of Mount Prospect,
Illinois".
The ordinance was read and thereupon Mr. Beigel moved that
said ordinance be passed. The motion was seconded by Mr. Niebuhr
and the roll was called with the following result:
Mr. Beigel voting aye;
Mr. Budlong voting aye;
Mr. Carlson voting aye;
Mr. Niebuhr voting aye;
Mr. Wille voting aye.
No one voting nay.
Total ayes - 5: Nays - 0.
Thereupon the President declared the motion for the passage
of said ordinance carried and said ordinance passed. N I
There being no further business to come before the meeting,
same on motion made, seconded and carried was adjourned.
