HomeMy WebLinkAbout06/07/1927 VB minutes Minutes of regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois, held in the Village Hall in said Village on the 7th day of June, A.D.1927, at the hour of eight o'clock P.M. The meeting was called to order by President Busse, and on call of the roll the following were found to be present: William Busse, President, and Messrs. Beigel, Heide, Hass, Mecklenburg, Noll and Pohlmann. Absent: None. The minutes of the last previous meeting were read and on motion made, seconded and carried same were approved as read. The Village Treasurer presented his report, and on motion made, seconded and carried same was ordered filed. The following bills were presented: Public Service Company 142.44 Henry Hammer, for labor - - - 30.00 Henry Hammer, for digging water taps 23.00 Behe Motor Service, expressing 10.00 W. C. Mulso, salary 160.00 Walter Bang, for digging water taps 383.00 Gardiner Metal Co., for lead pipe, etc - - - - - - 504.87 wm. Busse, Jr. for stamps - _ 6.00 Ir Cook County Herald, printing ballots 5.00 Illinois Bell Telephone Company 4 Public Service Company, for street lighting - - - - 129.52 Albert wille 20.34 • Wm, Busse & Sons 5.00 Huecker Ford Service, for repairs to truck 25.50 Herman F. Meyn, to apply on tractor 425.00 Henry Meneching, for digging water tap 4.40 Ed Pingel, for digging water tap 4.80 Badger Meter Manufacturing Co., balance on account 5.00 A. F. Burnell, for labor 8.53 George Sorenson, for labor - - - 25.50 Chicago Northwestern Railway, express' - - - - - - - 2.91 Herman Hubbel, 590.26 C On motion made by Mr. Haas, seconded by Mr. Heide, and on call of the roll unanimously carried, said bills were ordered paid and vouchers ordered drawn therefor. The Treasurer and superintendent of water works presented their official bonds, and on motion made by Mr. Pohlmann, seconded by Mr. Heide, and carried on roll call, said bongs, together with the sureties thereon were approved. The Public Service Company made application for, permit to install gas service. at Edwards and South Milburn add other points, and on motion made by Mr. Noll, seconded by Mr. Mecklenburg, and carried on roll call, such permit was granted. Application was made by Henry 'J. Ehard and Frank Baldwin to dig across Elmhurst Road for the purpose of laying drain tile. On motion made, seconded and carried said permission was given, sub- . ject to the permit of the State Highway Department. The Judicial Committee presented an ordinance treating a voluntary fire department, and a motion was made by Mr. Heide that N o y p s by ' said ordinance be passed. The motion was seconded and the roll called with the following result: Messrs. Beigel, Heide, Haas Mecklenberg, Noll and Pohlman voting aye. No one voting nay. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried and the ordinance passed. . Thereupon Mr. Haas presented the following resolution and moved its adoption: 4HEREAS the Board of Local Improvements of_..this 'Village .has presented to the President and Board of Trustees of this .Village the draft of an ordinance providing for the construction .of a connected system of street pavement in FAIRVIEW'AVENUE and .other streets and avenues, as more fully described in the draft .of said ordinance, together with an estimate of the cost of said > O .proposed improvement signed and certified to by the President of • ! said Board of Local Improvements, as required by law, and has ,also presented with said ordinance and estimate its recommends •tion duly signed by said Board of Local Improvements, recommend- ing tree passing of said ordinance and the making of said proposed .improvement, and which recommendation, estimate and ordinance .have been read and considered by this Board; and, WHEREAS it appears that the estimated cost of s9.id'proposed ,improvement exceeds the sum of One Hundred Thousand Dollars .(1100,000.00), and that therefore it is necessary that said .recommendation, estimate and ordinance be published as required .by law; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED that said ordinance be. referred to the Streets and Sidewalks Committee of this Board, consisting of John W. Pohlman, as chairman, and Messrs. Herman Heide and Henry Beigel, as members, and that said ordinance and said recommendation and estimate be published in full, as required by law; and, 1 BE IT FURTHER RESOLBED that as there is no daily or weekly newspaper being published in the Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois, that suchpublication be made in the Cook County Herald, a weekly secular newspaper printed and published in the Village of Arlington Heights, Illinois, in the County in which the Village of Mount Prospect is situa- ted, and which newspaper has a circulation in the Village of Mount Prospect, and that said Cook County Herald be and the same is hereby designated as the newspaper in which such publication be made. The motion for the adoption of said resolution was seconded by Mr. Beigel, and the roll called with the following result: Messrs. Beigel, Heide, Haas, Mecklenburg, Noll and Pohlmann voting aye. No one voting nay. Thereupon the President declared the resolution adopted. There being no further business to come before the meeting same on motion made, seconded and unanimously carried was adjourned to June 28, 1927. c
