HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/01/1927 VB minutes The Minutes of a Special Meeting of the President and and Board. of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois, held in the Village Hall in said Village on the 1st day of April, A. D. 1927, at the hour of eight O'clock P. M. The meeting was called to order by President Busse and the Village Clerk presented the call of the meeting received from the President of the Board and made pr oof of noti ce to all of' the members of the Board. of Trustees of such special meeting. Thereupon the roll was called and the following members were found to be present: William Busse, President, and Messrs. Beigel, Haas, Heide,'Mecklenburg and Pohlmann, members of the Board. of Trustees. Absent, Mr. Noll. Thereupon the President declared the meeting duly organized for the transaction of business. The first business to come before the meeting was the action to be taken by this Board on a recommendation, President's estimate and draft of ordinance providing for the making of a local improvement consisting of the construction of a system of street pavement in Emerson Street and other streets and avenues, which recommendation, e stimate and ordinance had been presented to the President and Board. of Trustees of this Village by the Board. of L oc al I mpr ovemen t s . Thereupon Mr. Mecklenbur presented the following reso- lution and moved its adoption: " WHEREAS the Board. of Local Improvements of this Village has presented to the President and Board of Trustees of this Village the draft of an ordinance pro- viding for the construction of a connected system of street pavement in Emerson Street and other streets and avenues as more fully described in the draft of said ordinance, together with an estimate of the cost of said proposed improvement signed and certified to by the President of said Board of Local Improvements, as required by law, and has also presented with said ordi- nance and _`estimate its recommendation duly signed by said Board of Local Improvements, recommending the passing of said ordinance and the making of said proposed improvement, and which recommendation, estimate and ordinance have been read and considered by this Board; VIIM.-4EAS it appears that the estimated cost of said proposed improvement exceeds the sum of One Hundred Thousand. Dollars (4'3100,000.00), and that therefore it is necessary that said recommendation, estimate and ordinance be published as required by law; therefore BE IT RESOLVED that said ordinance be referred to the Streets and Sidewalks Committee of this Board, con- sisting of John W. Pohlman, as Chairman, and Messrs. Herman "Heide and 'Henry Beigel, as members, and that said ordinance and said recommendation and estimate be pub - lished in full, as required by law; and BE IT FURTHER '��ESOLVED that as there is no daily or weekly newspaper being published in the Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois, that such publication be made in the COOK COUNTY HERAL7), a weekly secular newspaper printed and published in the Village • of Arlington Heights, Illinois , in the county in which the Village of Mount Prospect is situated, and which newspaper has a circu- lation in the Village of Mount Prospect, and that the said. Cook County Herald be and the same is hereby designated as the newspaper in which such publication shall be made." The mot ion for the adoption of said resolution was seconded by Mr. Pohlmann and the roll was called with the following result: Masers. Beigel, Hass, Heide, Mecklenburg and Pohlmann voting Aye ; no one vot ing Nay . Thereupon the President declared the motion carried and the resolution adopted. • Thereupon the President reported that the Board of Local Improvements had also presented to the President and Board. of Trustees a recommendation, President's estimate and ordinance for the construction of a local improvement consisting of a system of street pavement in Owen Street and other streets and avenues in said Village. After an examination by the President and Board. of Trustees of such recommendation, estimate and ordinance, Mr. Beige" presented the following resolution and moved its adoption: "WHEREAS the Board of Local Improvements of this Village has presented to the President and Board of Trustees of this Village the draft of an ordinance providing for the construction of a connected system of street pavement in OWEN STAET and other streets r and avenues, as more fully described in the draft o f said ordinance , together with an a stimate of the cost of said proposed improvement . signed and certified to by the President of said. Board of Local Improvements, as required by law, and has also presented with said ordinance and estimate its recommendation duly signed by said Board of Local Improvements, recommending the • passing of' said ordinance and the making of said pro - posed improvement, and which recommendation, estimate and ordinance have been read and considered by this Board; and WHEREAS it appears that the estimated cost of said proposed improvement exceeds the sum of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00), and that therefore it is necessary that said recommendation, estimate and ordinance be published as required by law; therefore BE IT ABSOLVED that said ordinance be referred to the Streets and Sidewalks Committee of this Board, consisting of John W. Pohlman, as C#iairman, and Messrs. Herman Heide and Henry Beigel , as members, and that said ordinance and said recommendation and estimate be published in full, as required by law; and BE IT FILliTHE.R RESOLVED that as there is no daily or weekly newspaper being published in the Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois, that such publication be made in the COOS COUNTY HEiLLD, a weekly secular news- paper printed and published in the Village of Arlington Heights, Illinois, in the County in which the Village of Mount Prospect is situated, and which newspaper has a cir culation in the Village of Mount Prospect, and that the said Cook County Herald be and the same is hereby designated as the newspaper in which such publication shall be made." The motion for the adoption of said resolution was seconded by Mr. Haas, and the roll was called with the following result: Messrs. Beigel, Haas, Heide, Mecklenburg and Pbhlmann voting Aye: No one voting Nay. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried and the resolution adopted. The President further reported that . there had been transmitted to the President and the Board. of Trustees a rec- ommendation President's estimate and ordinance providing for the construction of a local improvement consisting of a system of street pavement in WILLE ST.iEET and other streets and avenues; and after an examination of said recommendation, estimate and ordinance, Mr. Haas presented the following resolution and moved its adoption: "WHEREAS the Board of Local Improvements of this Village has presented to the President and Board. of Trustees of this Village the draft of an ordinance providing for the construction of a connected system of street pavement in Wille Street and other streets and avenues, as more fully described in the draft of said ordinance, together with an estimate of the cost of said proposed improvement signed and certified to by the President of said 1 3oard of Local Improvements, as required by law, and has also presented with said ordinance ani estimate its recommendation duly signed by said Board of Local Improvements, recommending the passim of said ordinance and the making of said proposed improvem ent , and which r ecommendati on, estimate and ordinance have been read and considered by this Board; and WHEREAS it appears that the estimated cost of said proposed improvement exceeds the sum of One Hundred. Herman Heide and Henry Beigel ,.as members, and that said ordinance and said recommendation and estimate be published in fall, as required by law; and BE IT FILCHER RESOLVED that as there is no daily or weekly newspaper being published in the Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois, that such publication be made in the COOK COUNTY HERALD, a weekly secular newspaper "printed and published in the Village of Arington Heights, Illinois, in the county in which the Village of Mount Prospect is situated, and which newspaper has a circulation in the Village of Mount Prospect, and that the said Cook County Herald be and the same is hereby designated as the newspaper in which such publication shall be made." The motion for the adoption of said resolution was seconded by Mr. Mecklenburg, and the roll was called with the following result: Messrs. Beigel, Haas, Heir?e, Mecklenburg and Pohlmann voting Aye: No one voting Nay. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried and the resolution adopted. There being no fur ther business to come before the meeting, same on motion made, seconded and carried, was ad- journed.
