The President called the meeting to order.
The Clerk called the roll, all trustees responding
present.
Minutes of the meeting of July 3rd, 1923 were read and
same were, on motion duly made, seconded and carried, approved
as read.
Treasurer's report as follows was read and ordered
placed on file.

Thereupon Mr. Gates of the Illinois Bell Tele-
phone Co. advised the board that telephone posts on which
they proposed to connect their line from the Elmhurst
Road to Central Road would be set along the dividing
fence line of the N. W. Ry. Co.'s and the Burke Farm
South of the railroad tracks,and the Clerk read permit
signed by N. F. Burke and Mary J. Burke, granting per-
mission to the Telephone Co. to set their post along
said fence.
It was duly moved, seconded and carried that
permit to set poles along the west property line of Elm-
hurst Road and along the north side of Central Road in the
Village limits be granted to the Illinois Bell Telephone
Co.
Thereupon the i lerk read the following bills,
said bills having been approved by the proper committees.

It was duly moved by trustee Haas, seconded by
trustee Jahncke,that said bills be paid and the clerk be
directed to issue warrants for same.

Thereupon the nark read the following bills for

It was duly moved by trustee Haas, seconded by trustee Heide,
that said bills be paid and the clerk be directed to issue warrants
for same.

Thereupon it was moved by trustee Heide, seconded by trustee
Jahneke, that the President be authorized to sign and the clerk
to countersign and issue warrants to pay Mr. Tassi for amounts
due him from time to time, upon the bills being approved by the
Finance Committee and the water leads collector.

Thereupon the following statement of donations, collected by
Mr. George Busse for covering the cost of installing and main-
taining an electric light on top of water tower was submitted,
said report being accompanied with a check for $20.00.

It was duly moved, seconded and carried, that the $20.00 be
accepted, said amount to be credited to the general corporate
fund.
Thereupon the clerk read the following applications for
permissions to dig up streets.

To the Honorable President and Members of the Village
Board of the Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois:
Gentlemen:
I hereby make application for permission to
dig up Wille 6treet from lot line of lot 3 block 1 of Ernst
Busse Add. to Mt. Prospect to drain tile in said Wille St.
for the purpose of laying a drain tile to my new residence.
Signed Amos Landmeier.
It was duly moved, seconded and carried, that said
permits be granted and that Mr. Amos Landmeier be required to
deposit the sum of $10.00 as a guarantee that refill would be
properly made, said $10.00 to be refunded upon order of the
Village Board.
Thereupon it was duly moved by trustee Haas, seconded
by trustee Jahncke, that the President be authorized to sign and the
clerk to countersign and issue warrant for the sum of $63.75 in
favor of Edward Zinkel in payment for 127- hrs. time devoted by
Mr. Zinkel during the month of August, 1923, running village
pump.

Thereupon it was moved by trustee Pohlmann, seconded by
trustee Haas, that the chairman of the Street and Sidewalk Committee
be authorized and directed to have three cement aprons installed
at the intersection of Elm Street and Busse Ave. and to lay plank
erOOeings at the north side of Busse Ave. across Elm St. and the
east side of Elm Street across Busse Ave.

Motion carried - ayes six, nays none.
Thereupon the President left the meeting, as he had an
important engagement to keep. Trustee Gosch acted as chairman
of the meeting.
Thereupon it was duly moved, seconded and carried,
that the clerk be directed to write to Chas. M. Porter Co.
advising them that drain tile in Evergreen Ave. east of Owen
Street, which had been disturbed by them when laying water -
main, had not been working since disturbed, and that Mr.
Walter Pohlmann had reported that he had suffered considerable
loss to his crops on account of said drain not working proper-
ly and that he had demanded that the village pay him for his
damaged crops, or else he would sue, also that the village
expected said Chas. M. Porter Co. to live up to their contract
and properly replace all drain tiles disturbed by them at once.
Thereupon it was duly moved by trustee Mecklenburg,
seconded by trustee Haas, that water leads collector be authorized
to employ a plumber to install water meters as soon as mains had
been flushed.

Thereupon it was duly moved by trustee Jahncke, seconded
by trustee Pohlmann, that the clerk be directed to purchase 6 keys
for each outside door of the Municipal Building.
