HomeMy WebLinkAbout06/25/1923 VB minutes • June 25th, 1923. Minutes of a special meeting held in pursuance of the following call of the President. "Mount Prospect, I11., June 23, 1923. • Mr. Henry J. Ehard, Village Clerk. Dear Sir: You are hereby directed to call a speoial meeting of the President and Members of the Village Board of the Village of Mount Prospect to be held Monday evening, June 25, 1923 at 8 o'clock P. M. (Daylight Saving Time) at William Wille's Hall for the purpose of taking up the matter of water service leads and to take up such other business as may come before the meeting. Yours very truly, (Signed) William Busse Village President." The President called the meeting to order. The Clerk called the roll, all trustees excepting Trustee Gosoh and Haas responding present. Thereupon Trustee Pohlmann reported that he had received a verbal bid from Albert Tassi of Maywood, Illinois, to top mains for water service leads and to install corporation cocks, lay water service pipe to shut off box and install curb cock and shut off box, * and do all the digging for same and to back fill all excavation and thoroughly tamp same,for the sum of sixty -three cents per foot for flang joint or seventy -five cents per foot for wiped joint. Village to furnish tapping machine, cocks, and shut off boxes. Also a bid of Chas. H. Berg of Park Ridge, I11., as follows was read by Trustee Pohlmann. "June 28, 1923. "Trustees, Village of Mt. Prospect: Gentlemen : - I propose to furnish all the necessary labor and material required for installing lead water stubs according to the following specifications: Use 3/4" extra strong lead water pipe. Mueller corporation cocks and couplings. Taps to be made with Mueller Tapping Machine. Roundways to be wiped in 12" from the end of each stub, leaving an open end for future house connections. All joints to be wiped solder joints. The following estimates will pertain to the above proposed work: - Lead pipe to be put in at the rate of $1.35 per foot. Stop boxes (buffalo box) at the rate of $2.15 each. Corporation cocks and couplings, and taps, each $2.75 Roundway cocks, each *2.65 Respectfully submitted, (Signed) Charles H. Berg." It was duly moved by Trustee Pohlmann, seconded by Trustee Heide, that bid of Mr. Albert Tassi be accepted and that the Village Attorney be directed to prepare a contract for Mr. Tassi to si•n, C said contract to provide that all work is to be completed on or before August 15, 1923, and that Mr. Tassi be reruired to furnish a bond for the faithful performance of work to be done under his contract. ROLL CALL Ayes: Heide, Jahncke, Mecklenburg, Pohlmann. Nays: None. Motion carried, ayes four, -nays none. Thereupon it was duly moved by Trustee Heide, seconded by Trustee Jahnoke, that Trustee Pohlmann be authorised to order one taping machine,aufficient lead pipe of the proper weight for service leads and one testing machine. ROLL CALL Ayes: Heide, Jahnoke, Mecklenburg, Pohlmann. Nays: None. Motion carried, ayes four, -nays none. Thereupon the following applications for permission to dig up streets were read. "June 8th, 1923. To the Honorable President and Members of the Village Board of the Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois: Gentlemen: I hereby make application for permission to dig up Emerson St. from lot line of lot 22 of Walter Kraase Add. to Mount Prospect for the purpose of laying a drain tile to tile in said Emerson St. Signed Dudley W. Budlong." • • "June 11, 1923. To the Honorable President and Members of the Village Board of the Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois: Gentlemen: I hereby make application for permission to dig up Central Road,from south line of Central Road where drain tile is now located to drain tile in Central Road, for the purpose of lowering tile for my catch - basin. Signed William Nolte." It was duly moved, seconded and carried that same be granted. Thereupon it was duly moved, seconded and carried that the Clerk be directed to retutn deposits of George Busse, R. Huecker, Aug. Oldenburg, and Ge ®. L. Busse, which he was holding as a guarantee that refill of excavation made by them in street would be properly made. (72: Thereupon the following bills for freight and express were presented.
