HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/18/1923 VB minutes April 18th, 1923. Minutes of an adjourned meeting held at the office of the Mount Prospect Development Association, oaring to the fact that hall of bJrn. Jille could not be used as same had been previously engaged by the young peoples society. The President called the meeting to order. The Clerk called the roll, all trustees, excepting Trustee Olansin, responding present. The Board thereupon proceeded to the canvassing of the election held April 17th, 1923. The follaring vas the result revealed by said canvass: FOR VILLAGE PRESIDENT. William Busse 117 John P. Mo eh.l ing 8 FOR VILLAGE TRUSTEE. Henry Clausing 92 Herman Heide 99 Charles Mecklenburg 128 John W. Pohlmann 122 It was duly moved by Trustee Haas, seconded by Trustee Jahncke, that William Busse be declared elected to the office of Village President and that Herman Heide, Charles Mecklenburg and John '41. Pohlmann be declared elected to the office of Village Trustee. ROLL CALL Ayes: Gosch, Haas, Heide, Jahncke, Mecklenburg. Nays: None. Motion carried - ayes five,- nays none. "April 5, 1923. • Dear Sir: Application is hereby made by the Public 'Service Company of Northern Illinois to perform i'rork as specified below. To install as service ripe for 4alter Scharrins?- hausen - i // Central. 'load R Northwest TTighway. Public Service Company (Signed) of Northern Illinois By D. W. Burtis." "April 18, 1923. To the Honorable President and Members of t' "e Village Board of the Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois: Ge ltl emen: I hereby make application for permission to lay a drain tile in Louis St. and 4i(illiam St. and connect up cellars on drain in Owen St. (Signed) Busse Land Co. by George Busse." • It was duly moved, seconded and carried that said permits be granted and that the Busse Land Co. be required to deposit X20.00 upon obtaining permit, 310.00 for permit to dig up Owen Street and 310.00 for permit to dig up Udillipm Street. Said deposits to be held by the Village Clerk as a guarantee that refill would be properly made to the satisfaction of the Village Board and to be returned to depositor upon order of said Board. Thereupon bond of George Busse, Village Collector, for the sum of $15000, with .iiliiarn Busse, Jr. and George L. Busse as snreties, was read by the Clerk. It was duly moved by Trustee Gosch, seconded by Trustee duly Haas, that said bond be approved and the President and Clerk be authoritzed to sign same as having been approved. ROLL CALL Ayes: Gosch, Haas, Heide, Jahncke, ? "ecklenburg. Nays: lone. Motion carried ayes five, - nays none. Thereupon it vas duly moved by Trustee 'tecklenburg, seconded by Trustee Heide, that the Clerk be authorized and directed to purchase 500 special assessment sheets, as sample submitted by him, and to purchase a loose leaf binder for same. ROLL CALL Ayes: Gosch, Haas, Heide, Jahncke, Mecklenburg. rays: None. Motion carried ayes five, - nays none. Thereupon the Clerk read an ordinance entitled:"An Ordinance amening Seotion 33 o-° an ordinance entitled,an Ordinance definins' misdemeanors and providin' for the punishment thereof." It was duly moved by Trustee Gosch, seconded by Trustee Haas, that said ordinance be passed. ROLL CALL Ayes: Gosch, Haas, Heide, Jahncke, Mecklenburg. Nays: None. Motion carried ayes five, - nays none. Thereupon the Clerk read the following letter from Chas. N. Porter Co. "Chicago, April 11th, 19?3. Mr. ffilliam Busse, Mount Prospect, Ill. Dear Sir: - In connection with assessments for water mains in your village, we o-"fer a cash discount ■ C of two per cent (2%), on assessments paid in full on or before May 15th, 1923. It is understood that any and all funds collected under this offer shall be applied to the account of the Chas. M. Porter Co. Yours very truly, CHAS. M. PORTER CO. (Signed) BY Irving D. Porter." It was duly moved, seconded and carried that said offer and proposition of Chas. N. Porter Co. be accepted.
