HomeMy WebLinkAbout12/06/1921 VB minutes Dee. 6, 1921. The President called the meeting to order. The Clerk called the roll all trustees responding present. Minutes of the meeting of Nov. 1, 1921 were read and on motion duly made seconded and carried accepted as read. The Treasurer's report as follows was read end on motion duly 'made seconded and carried ordered placed on file. Treasurer's Report. Balance on hand last report 4578.76 Received from Henry J. Ehard ` 10.00 4588.76 penditures 4540.08 Cash on hand yp 48.68 Thereupon the clerk read the following resolution. "Whereas there is not sufficient money in the treasury of the Village to meet and defray the ordinary and necessary expenees thereof until the collection of the taxes levied for the fiscal year beginning May 1, 1921, therefor -, Be it resolved, that a fund be provided to meet all said ex- , pences by issuing and disposing of warrants against and in anti- cipation of the taxes now levied for said fiscal year beginning May 1, 1921 for the payment of all such ordinary and necessary ex- pences of said village. That the said fund shall be in a total amount of one thousand 'dollars (41000.00) or such portion thereof as shall be needed to meet and defray the said ordinary and necessary expences; that the warrants drawn and issued under the provissions hereof shall show upon their face that they are payable solely from said taxes when collected and not otherwise, and shall be re- ceived by the collector of taxes in payment of taxes against which . they are issued and which taxes against which said warrants are drawn shall be set apart and held for their payment; that the President be and is hereby authorized and empowered to sign and execute and the clerk to countersign all warrants and instruments necessary for carrying out of this resolution." It was duly moved by trustee 3eigel, seconded by trustee Holste that said resolution be adopted. Roll Call. Ayes : - Beigel, Clausing, Goseh, Heide, Holste, Mecklenburg. Nays : - None. Motion carried ayes six, nays none. Thereupon the clerk read the following bills said bills having been approved by the proper committees. • Edward Zinkel-- -Labor cleaning Culvert 4 4.50 Albert Greinke -- " IT If 4 2.00 William Busse Jr. Stamps 4 2.00 Vm. St. Lights '58.33 Total 4126.13 It was duly moved by trustee Beige' secondJd by trustee C Mecklenburg that said bills be paid and the clerk be directed to issue warrants for same. Roll Call. Ayes : - Beigel, Clausing, Goseh, Heide Holste, Mecklenburg. Nays : - None. Motion carried ayes six, nays none. Thereupon it was duly moved by trustee Gosch, seconded by trustee Beigel that the Health and Drainage Committee be authorized and directed to extend tile north along the east side of Main Street to Central Road thence east along the south side of Central Road to the east side of Maple Street, also th lay tile on the west side of Main Street to culvert at Central road, all of said tile to be laid for the purpose of draining surface water from streets., School district 57 to pay for tile laid along school property. Roll Call. Ayes;/- Beigel, Clausing, Goseh, Heide, Holste, Mecklenburg. Nays; /- None. 'Motion carried ayes six, nays none. C Thereupon the clerk read the following letter from Geo. A. Quinlan Supt. Of Highways of Gook County. "Mr. Henry J. Shard, . Village Clerk, Mount Prospect, I11. Dear Sir: In compliance with the instructions of the Board of County Commissioners, I am preparing plans and specifications for the construction of the Northwest Highway from the Seegar Rd. to the Village of Arlington Heights. On that portion through the village of Mount Prospect theseplans are being prepared with the understanding that the Village is to drain the slough which lies a few hundred feet southeast of the creamery, Will you kindly inform me what steps the village has taken toward the draining of this slough as we have hopes of completing these plans in about two weeks. " It was duly moved by trustee Beigel, seconded by trustee Holste that the village agree to drain slough in time to permit the grading for Street at the present location of slough and that the clerk be directed to notify the Supt. of Highways to that effect. Roll Call. Ayes : - Beigel, Clausing, .Goseh, lleidec,Holste, Mecklenburg. Hayes ;- None. Motion carried ayes six, nays none. . I Thereupon it was -duly moved by trustee Beigel seconded by trustee Gosoh that the dumping of garbage and rubbish in slough southeast of the creamery be no longer permitted and thaT the Health and Drainage Committee be authorized and directed to have a sign painted and erected notifying the public that no dumping in said slough will be permitted. Roll Call. Ayes : - Beigel, Clausing, Gosch, Heide, Holste, Mecklenburg. Nays: - None. • Motion carried ayes six, nays none. Thereupon it was duly moved by trustee Beigel, seconded by trustee Holste that the clerk be directed to write to Henry Behrens Jr. notifying him that the dumping of garbage on street 4s of the village ordinance and that same would not be tolerated in the future. Roll Call. Ayes : - Beigel, Clausing, Gosoh, Heide, Holste, Mecklenburg. Nays : - None. Motion carried ayes six, nays none. Thereupon it was duly moved by trustee Gosch, seconded by trustee Holste that the clerk be directed to send a letter to Mr. Henry Linnemann advising him that the village board deemed him to be an itinerant merchant during the time that he received and sold potatoes in this village and that under the provisions of ordinance no. 31 he should pay the village $5.00 for each day he acted as such itinerant merchant. Roll Call. Ayes: Beigel, Clausing, Gosch, Heide, Holste, Mecklenburg. Nays: None. Motion carried ayes six, nays none. On motion duly made seconded and carried meeting adjourned.
