The President called the meeting to order.
The olerk called the roll all trustees excepting trustee clausing
responding present.
Mi4.utes of the meeting of Aug. 2nd 1921 were read and on motion
duly made seconded and carried accepted as read.
The treasurer's report as follows was read , and on motion duly
made seconded and carried ordered placed on file.

Thereupon the olerk read the following bills said bills having
been approved by the proper committees.

It was duly moved by trustee Beigel, seconded by trustee Mecklenburg
that said bills be paid and the clerk be directed to issue warrants
C for same.

Nays: None.

Thereupon the Finance Committee reported that they had audited the
books of the Clerk's and Treasurer and that they had found same correct.
It was auly moved, " seconded _and carried that said report be aocepted.
Thereupon it was duly moved by trustee Beigel seconded by trustee
Holste that the Health and Drainage Committee be authorized to purchase
four inch tile to be laid in the south side of Central road for the
purpose of draining surface water of said Central Road from Wills Street
to drain tile running aocross Central Road near Elmhurst Road, said tile
to be laid free of any charge to the Village by the abuting property
owners.

Thereupon it was duly moved by trustee Gosoh, ieoonded by trustee
Beigel that the Fire and ffater Committee be authorized to purchase one
new tire for the Fire Truck.

Nayes: None.
Motion carried ayes five , nays none .
Thereupon it was duly moved by trustee Holste seconded by trustee
Beigel that the Health and Drainage Committee be authorized to have
sieve on top of catch basin at the south -east corner of Busse Ave. and
Main Street cleaned.

Thereupon it was duly moved seconded and carried that permission be
granted to Mr. Ben Perino to lay railroad ties to serve as a sidewalk
along Evergreen Ave. from his residenee to Owen Street, the laying of
said ties to be done under the supervision and direotion of the Chairman
of the Street & Side -walk Committee.
Thereupon it was duly moved by trustee Holste, seconded by trustee
Beigel that the President be authorized to have Street Signs erected
at suitable places.

Thereupon it was duly moved by trustee Beigel, seconded by trustee
Heide that owing to the fact that Cental Road was being paved and the
trafic could not pass said Centaal Rd. for 30 day, that the Chairman of
the Street and Sidewalk Committee be authorized to have a barricade
erected across Elmhurst Road immediately south of the Foundry Road.

Thereupon it was duly moved, •: seconded and carried that the Mount
prospect Improvement Assn. be aakid to make such improvements on our
public play ground as they could afford.
Thereupon the olerk read the application of Mr. Herman Busse for
permission to dig up Emmerson St. from lot line of lot 10 or 11 in block
4 in Busse and Wille's Resbd. in , Mt. Prospect for the purpose of laying
a drain tile to drain tile in said Emerson Street.
It was duly moved seconded and carried that said permission be granted*
Thereupon it was duly moved seconded and carried that the clerk be
direoted to write to the Chicago & Northwestern Railway Co. calling their
attention to the numerous narrow escapes that had reoently at
their crossing at Emerson Ave. and that he request them to provide some
means for protecting the traffic aoros3 their tracks at this point.
Thereupon the clerk read the following resolution .
(::
WHEREAS, during the fire at the plant of the Northwestern Light &
Power Co. on Saturday Night September 3rd, Mrs Richard
Bennett, night operator for the Illinois Bell Telephone Co., did
render most prompt and efficient service in summoning aid from
our neighboring towns, Desplainea and Arlington Heights, and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Bennett on other occasions has proven herself most
willing and efficient in such emergencies,-
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Village Clerk be authorized, by letter
to convey to Mrs. Bennett an expression of our
appreciation and gratitude for her services and
the Bence of assurance we feel in having one so
dependable to call upon and so ready to lend assis-
tanoe in times of need."
It was duly moved seconded and carried that said resolution be adapted
and that a copy thereof be forwardet to Mrs. Richard Bennet and the
Illinois Bell Telephone Company.
Thereupon on motion duly made seconded and carried meeting adjourned.
