One new home- W. Central Rd. owner wished to put in a fence in accord with those of his neighbors. Residents living on the north side of Central Road are requesting that shrubbery be planted along the fence next to Central Road to act as a screen across the back lots of those residences, which face on Busse Avenue. It' was the contention of this group that the subdivider, Town Development Co. (We Go Park) had agreed verbally to put in screen plantings along that line but had not done so. The Board of Trustees decided that they would speak to Town Development Co. Trustee Ekren, seconded by Trustee Gaw, thereupon moved that Mr.. Quentin Sharp of~ 1204 West. October 13, 1959 84 Trustee Norris read the following letter of October 6th Change in paving plans from-Consoer~, Townsend & Associates describing change ~T Sec. 14-CS in plans and additions in paving, MFT Sec. 14-CS, Pine Pine and other streets and other streets. October 6, 1959 Mr. Harold G. Appleby Village Manager Municipal Bldg., Mt. Prospect Dear Mr. Appleby: Re:.MFT Sec. 14-CS, Bituminous' Resurfacing of Pine and other Streets - C.T.&A #59-85 Ih accordance with our recent telephone conversation concerning proposed additions to the referenced project, we have prepared and submit herewith five (5) copies of Request No. I for Approval of Change in Plans. This change order provides for an addition of $10,957.90 and covers various items as described therein. As you know, the additional pave- ment removal and replacement is deemed necessary due to excessive vertical separation of pavement at the centerline, and this work was recommended by two State Highway Department representatives during a recent field inspection. Additional drainage structures and curb removal and replacements are necessary in order to correct poor drainage conditions. Additional sidewalkreolacements are proposed at intersections where the present walk aprons have settled. The quantity of frames and grates to be adjusted is increased due to the necessity to adjust additional drainage structures in the pavement area, which were inadvertently omitted from the p'lans. Some catch basins in the parkway had settled, and it is considered desirable that they be adjusted at this time. The additional work will be done at contract unit prices, except for those items marked with an asterisk on the change order which indicates "Agreed Price". The agreed prices conform with the contractor's proposal, a copy of which is ~ttached, and we coAsider them to be satisfactory. We attempted tomegotiate with the contractor for lower unit prices for the items of sidewalk removal and P.C.C. Sidewalk (5"), but he. advised that due to the proposed reconstruction of many small sections of walk he feels that payment should be made at contract unit prices. The items in change order were discussed 'verbally with the State, and the only items that appeared questionable, insofar as receiving State approval is concerned, were the items of sidewalk removal, P.C.C. S~e- walk (5"), and catch basins to be adjusted in parkway. However, the State Highway Department representative suggested that if the Village so d~sires, these items may be included in the change order for formal action by that Department. If this change order is satisfactory witb you and the Board, kindly sign&n the lower right-hand corner of all copies and s~bmit four signed copies to Mr. J. P. Tuthill, District Engineer, Illinois Division of Highways, 160 North La Salle Street, Chicago, Illinois, for approval.
