The President called the meeting to order.
The clerk called the roll all trustees excepting trustee Beigel
responding present.
Thereupon the minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and
same were on motion duly made seconded and carried accepted as
read.
The treasurer's report as follows was read and ordered placed
on file.

Thereupon the clerk read the following bills said bills having been
0.K.ed by the proper committees.

It was duly moved by trustee Haberkamp, seconded by trustee Holse
that said bills be paid and the clerk be directed to issue warrants
for same.

Motion carried ayes five nays none.
The chairman of the Fire and Water Committee reported that truck
had been delivered to have chemical tanks mounted thereon.
Thereupon the following resolution was introduced.
Resolution.
Whereas, a petition has been filed by the Chicago Telephone
Company before the Public Utilities Comission, asking for an increase
of the telephone rates, and the first hearing thereon has already
been set for November 26, 1918; and
Whereas, the Public Service Company of Northern Illinois
has filed with the Public Utilities Commission schedules providing
for an increase of the gas rates, and the hearing on the gas rate
increase will be set tit.an early date by the Commission; and
Whereas, experience has shown that a united defence is more
effective and economical to the municipalities affected than a
seperate defence by each;
Continued.
Therefore, Be it Resolved that this municipality join with
the other municipalities interested in the defence of both of the
above hearings.
Be it futher resolved that a warrant be issued on the Judiciary
Fund for the sum of II.50 in the favor of the State Bank of Chicago
as Escrow agent , being the contribution of this municipality to the
fund for the defence of the proceedings brought by the Chicago
Telephone Company and to be brought by the Public service Company of
Northern Illinois, for the purpose of increasing the rates of said
respective utilities, said fund to be disbursed upon the order of
a majority of an auditing eommitteee, consisting of Messrs. Charles
J. Wolf, Chairman, Ning Eley, William F. Propper and Elmer E Jackson,
any unexpended balance of said fund to be returned to all of said
contributors pro rata at the termination of said proeeeingd.
It was duly moved by trustee Haberkamp seconded by trustee
Holste that said resolution be adopted.

Motion carried ayes five nays none.
Thereupon the clerk read a letter from the National War
Savings Committee asking the board to apoint a committee to assist
the local committee in the sales of wan savings stamps.
It was duly moved , seconded and carried that the entire
board including the President and Clerk be appointed a committee
to oo- op erate with the local War savings committee in the sales
of wa s stamps.
Thereupon trustee Haberkamp moved that the President be
authorized and directed to appoint a health Officer.
Said motion was duly seconded by trustee Busse.

Motion carried ayes five nays none.
Thereupon trustee Pohlmann moved that the President and Clerk
be authorized and directed to sign and issue a warrant in favor of
the Mount Prospect Volunteer Fire Department the sum of $I00.00
to be applied by them on the purchase of fire fighting apparatus.
Said motion was seconded by trustee Gosch.

Thereupon the President read a communication from Edgar A
Rossiter sug the installation of a water system and Tower
in Mount Prospect.
On motion duly made seconded and carried meeting adjourned.
