HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/06/1940 VB minutes Minutes of a regular meeting 219 of the President & Board of Trustees of the Village of Mt Prospect Illinois, held on .August 6th, 1940 at the village hall of said Village. President Besander called the meeting to order and upon the clerk calling the roll the following trustees were found to be present. Trustees Greinke, Haas, Haberkamp, Mortimer, Pendleton and Mille. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved on a motion made by Trustee Fendleton which had been seconded by Trustee 1: Mortimer. The following report of the treasurer was ordered placed o file by a motion made by Trustee Greinke which was seconded by ustee Mille. and passed. The Special assessment report was ordered placed on file on a motion made by Trustee Haberkamp seconded by Trustee Greinke, . and passed. It was moved by Trustee Mortimer and seconded by Trustee Haberkam2 that the matter of billboards be referred to the Zoning commissWn and they to report to the next Village Board meeting what action the board should take. The motion was carried. A motion was made bi Trustee Greinke and seconded by Trustee Hats to purchase 200 feet of 2* inch fire hose at *1.10 per foot. The motion was carried with the following vote, Ayea: Greinke, Haaa Haberkamp, Moetimerm Pendleton and Mille. No nays. It was moved by Trustee Mortimer and seconded by Trustee Haberkamp that Mr. Grimm be given permission to gravel the streets in his subdivision. The motion was carried. It was moved by Trsutee Mortimer and seconded by Trustee 3 Willethat a report be gotten from the planycomrissisn, to see what they are doing and that a report be made at the next regular meeting. Motion carried. A motion was made by Trustee Wille and seconded by Trustee Haberkamp that the First National Bank of Chicago and the Mount Prospect State Bank continue a depsoitories for the village and Fred Wille, as treasurer. The moton was carried withlhe following m vote. Ayes; Greinke, Haas, Haberkamp, Mortimer, Pendleton and'Wille. It was moved by Trustee Haas and seconded by Trustee Wille. that Fred Wille should not turn in the delinquent special assessment list to the County "ollector. The motion was carried with the following vote; Ayes: Greinke, Haas, Habeekmap, Mortimer Pendleton and Will °. No nays. The census report was received from the Government and showed the population of Mt Prospect had increased from 1222 in 1930 to 1720 in 1940. It was moved by Trustee Wille and seconded by Trustee Mortimer N / A , that an ordinance levying taxes for the year 1940 -1941 be passed. The motion was carried with he following vote. Ayes: Greinke, 3 Haas, Haberkamp Mortimer Pendleton and Willa. No nays. There being no further business to come before said meeting it was regularly moved, seconded and passed to adjourn.
