HomeMy WebLinkAbout11/08/1940 VB minutes 229 MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING CF THE PRESIDENT AID BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MT PROSPECT ILLINOIS, HELD ON NOV. 8TH, 1940. AT THE VILLA }.3 HALL. ftwomis President Besander called the meeting to order and upon the clerk calling the roll the following trustees were found to be present. Trustees Greinke, Haas, Haberkamp, Mortimer Pendleton and Wille. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and IL: approved on a motion made by Trustee Pendleton seconded by Trustee Haberkamp. It was move. by Trustee Haberkamp and seconded by Truste Greinke that the following report of the treasurer be placed on file. The Motion carried. Bal on hand last report 118.81 teceipts 19.65 138.46 A motion was mad- by Trustee Greinke and seconded by Trustee Tille that the special assessment report be placed on file the motion was carried. Itcwas moved by Trustee Mortimer and seconded by Trustee Haberkamp that President Besander ap_oint a special committee to check the matter of placing lights in the ball field w4th the property owners in that vicinity and to report back at the next meeting. The motion carried. Trustees Mortimer, Haas and Pendleton were appointed as members of this committee. A motion was made by Trustee Mortimer and seconded by Trustee Wille that the following bills be paid. Busse 75.00 It was movel by Trustee Haas and seconded by Trustee Mortimer that a vote of thanks be given the citizens committee (I also the citizens of the village for the splendid work done in support of the poslice dar The motion carried. A motion was made by Trustee Haberkamp and seconded by Trustee Greinke that the recommendation of the police dept and the street committee as to street lights be accepted. The motion was carried with the following vote Ayes, Jrienke, Haas, Haberkamp Mortimer Pendleton and Wille. No nays. It was move by Trustee Greinke and seconded by Trustee Haberkamp that the 2% ,fund be transferred to thtf ire department. The motion carried wit he following vote. Ayes, Greinke, Haas Haberkamp, Mortimer Pendleton and Wille. No nays. A motion was made by Trustee Pendleton and seconded by Trustee Haberkamp that the village join the Chicago reginal planning commission, the dues to be $25.00 . The moton was carried . with the following vote Ayes, Greinke, Haas, Haberi[amp, Mortimer Pendleton and Wille. No nays. It was movee by Trustee Mortimer and seconded by Trustee Wille that the light posts on the Northwest Highway also on Prospect blow Ave. be removed as they have become a hazard to the village. The motion was carried. A motion was made by Trustee Pendleton and seconded by Trustee Haas that the village hold back 5% of the to461 spread on special assessment #39 for future expenses. The motion carried with the following vote Ayes, Greinke, Haas, Habermap, Mortimer and Wills No nays. 231 It was moved by Trustee Haberkamp and seconded by Trustee Wille that the president appoint a committee to go to Western Springs and in,iuire how they collected their delinquent taxes. The president appointed the finance committee to act. and said motion was carried by a vote of acclamation. It was moved by Trustee Haas and secondeda by Trustee Mortimer that the following resolution be passed: Resolve(' that the Village issue anticipation warrepts to the full amount of their tax levy, and same to be sold as needed, by authority of the village board. The motion was passed A motion was made by Trustee Haberkamp and seconded by Trustee Wille that vehicle licenses be given free to the Firemen, Trustees, President of the board and regular village employees. The motion was carriedcwith the following vote Ayes: Greinke, Haas Haberkamp, Mortimer, 'endleton and Wille. No nays. It was moved by Trustee Wille and seconded by Trustee Haberkamp that the Mt Prospect State Bank and the First National Bakk of Chica;o be designated as depositories for the funds of the village. The motion was carried with the following vote Ayes, Greinke, Haas Haberkamp, Mortimer, Pendleton and Wille. No Nays. There being no further business to come before said meeting W same was regularly adjourned on a motion mad by Trustee Haberkamp seconded by Trustee Wille.
