OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUST1FS, MELD ON NOVEMBER 19
1940 AT THE VILLAGE HALL.
President Besarrder walled the meeting to order and upon
the clerk calling the roll the foliowing trustees were fauns; to be
present, Trustee Greinke, Haas, Mortimer, Pendleton and Wille. Trustee
Haberkamp was absent.
It was moved bv Trustee Mortimer and seconded by Trustee
Wille that the following resolution be adopted. Said foliowing re-
solutiDn was adopted with the folliwng vote, Ayess Greinke Haas,
Mortimer, Pendleton and Wille. No nays.
Whereas it has been determined by a partial audit of the
available records of the acts and doings of Christian D. Busse, former
treasurer of the Village of Mt Prospect I11. that during his admin-
istration, upwards of the sum of $116,000.00 was misapplied and mis-
a propriated out of the monies collected from special assessments Nos.
1 to 48 inclusive and,
Whereas, the judiciary committee, after a detailed examinatis
00 of said partial audit, has come to the conclusion that in the light ofk
the sworn duty of the village board, a demand should be made en behalf
'' of the Village of Mt Prospect Illinoisupon said Christian D. Busse and
W his sureties to make restitution of said monies so misapplied and mis-
appropriateds-
Resolved that the Village of Mount Prospect Illinois,through
its proper 'officials and attorney, forthwith make demand upon the said
Christian Busse and his sureties to reimburse the Village of Mt Prospect
I11., for any and all misapplications and misappropriations of monies
collected by the said Christian D. Busse, while Village treasurer, from
said assessments Nos 1 to 48 both inclusive and,
Be it further resolved that unless such restitution is made
within five days after such demand,that the proper officials of therw
village and their attorney be and are hereby instructed to institute
the necessary litigation to compel such restitution.
It was moved by Trustee Pendleton and seconded by Trustee
Haas to retain Samuel `Yodika as attorney for the Viliage at $10.00 per
hour with a maximum of $2000.00 per year, waving all fees for August,
September and October 1940. Mr'Wodika to attend all meetings, in con-
sideration that all past du \bills be paid. Said arrangement to become
effective en November 1st, 1940. The motion was carried with the
foliowing vote Ayes: Greinke, Haas, Mortimer, Pendleton and Ville. No
nays.
A motion was made by Trustee Pendleton and seconded by Trustee
Haas that $2500.00 be borrowed from the water fund for use in the
General fund. The motion was carried with the following vote Ayes,
Greinke, Haas, Mortimer Pendleton and Wille. No nays.
There being no further busienss to come before said meeting
same was regularly adjourned.
