MINUTES OF A REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING
HELD IN Tilt VILLAGE HALL AT MT.PROSPECT
ILLINOIS., BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES TUESDAY MARCH 3RD, 1942. at
8 O'CLOCK PM. -
The meeting was -called to order by Presidents Beeander,' the` roll
being called the - following Trustees were found to be present:

It was mov - ed by. Trustee Mortimer, seconded by Trustee Greinke
that the Treasurer's report be accepted as read.
Motion carried.
It was moved by Trustee Mortimer, seconded by Trustee Haberkamp
that the - auditor's report as approved by the attorney be accepted,
also that the special assesstment report be included.

A motion made by Trustee Mortimer, seconded by Trustee LeMa$r,'
an ordinance be passed authorizing blackouts in the Village, and

' ■ ` that Mr w.A. Gla es er be authorized to supervise same. This dr-
() dinance given full - publicity, and that the Village be not res-

ponsib14 for any possible damage or injury that may arise during
these blackouts.
Motion Carried.

A request was made by Mr. Hauptley to have the Village Board
consider free water supply to the Public School. A discussion
took place considering free water supply to both schools and
the matter was finally referred to the committe on Fire &'Water.
A request made by Lr. Stoelk to see what can be done in a irianher
of outlets, or drainage, pools of water accumulating= from time
on N. to time qtr. Mortimer volunteered to look into this matter per -
Wille a y, and made an appointment with Mr. Stoelk -to do so.
Mr. a q . o see how he may be able to obtain
additional tompensation for injuries received while working for
the Village, because the Insurance Company refused to pay any
more money. He was referred to the Industrial Commissioner : .
A request was made by Trustee Mortimer that the Ralph Gould
matter in the final disposition of fines collected be referred
to the Judiciary Committee.

Chief Geo. Whittenberg to the Village Board. A motion was made
by Trustee Mortimer, seconded by Trustee Greinke that their
services be accepted without compensation, and in conjunction
with Civil Defense Programme.

A matter of planting trees at 400 N. Mille was taken up and
instructions given Mr..Mulso that the planting of 50 feet apart
be observed.
It was moved by Trustee Mortimer, seconded by Trustee Haberkamp
that the following resolution be approveds
WHEREAS. The Board of Commissioners of Cook County propose
to construct grade crossing protection of electrically
controlled automatic gates at the main Street crossing of
the C. & N.W. RR..

North West Highway be synchronized; with the crossing._ controls &

to permit this synchronizing and
WHEREAS. The County of Cook proposes to widen Main St. '`
(Elmhurst Rd) which will undoubtedly increase the movement
of traffic and

THEREFORE BE IT R.ESOLVEDs That the Village does hereby
petition the State of Illinois, His Excellency Gov,Green,
the Department of Highways to construct Stop & Go traffic
lights at Northwest Highway and Main St., in the Village
of Mt. Prospect and

Gentlemen: . ..
A year ago you granted me a permit: to erect a'
temporary building for the purpose of operating a ^drug' store for one year
w restrictions. The time now expiring I hereby respectfully request an
extension of the above permit.The building occupied es a drug store owned
and operated by the undersigned,located on the premises known as No.10 E.
Northwest Highway,Mt.Prospect Ill. and described as followes

Due to the fact that a resolution adopted by Trustee
Mortimer and accepted by the Village Board that a special
meeting of the Building Committee be held'for the purpose
of hearing Mr. Burda and that a decision be 'rendered by the
Building Committee as to continuance or dissontinuance`of`the
use of the temporary building' there was no action taken by
the Board.
Mr. President appointed Mr. Dovale, Mr. LeMay and
Mr. Pendleton to act as a Committee to discuss the matter of
delinquent taxes with the Village Attorney, for the purpose
of writing letters to these delinquents.
Mr. James Walsh discussed the matter of using the driweway
adjoining the National Store, as that of a Public Driweway, and
same was referred to the Committee for further investigation.
A letter from the Illinois Commerce Commission was read
in the matter of proposed changes in commutation and excursion
fares, and that a meeting for that purpose will be at ` the
office of the Commission at Chicago Illinois on March llth,
at 10 A.M. The President suggested sn ,ember of the Board to
appear who is able to.
